Adam,
If I told you one casino offered the Bears at 2-1 to win the Super Bowl and one offered them at 10-1 to win the Super Bowl, and you were going to bet the Bears, which place would you bet them at?

If I said one place offered 6-5 on BJ's and one offered 3-2 on BJ's, with the same rules otherwise, where would you play?

Simply put, people don't know the odds of the games (nor do I guess they care). They are more than happy to drop their money off and come back 6 months later.

The sharper gamblers can tell you that games have deteriorated greatly with the consolidation of corporations. It is not because too many people are beating them, that is the myth they hide behind. It is because too many people are too stupid to know when they are being hosed.

The thing that makes me really sad is people keep playing these games and are oblivious they are being bent over and stuck.
That and the lack of education on the gambler's part with respect to odds keeps these "corporations" reeling in the cash.

yeah, but the sportsbooks bend you over as well and to an even greater house edge. Unless you are giving away money over in the IP that I don't know about

Completely agree WVU, see my post above you.
We tried to go the greater good route, but we are owned by a large corporation.

6 and 8 decks doesn't hurt you much at all, much better than a 6-5 single deck game.

Worst part of this travesty is that casinos actually try to fool the idiots into thinking 6/5 BJ is a good game because it is single deck. They say things like "at last we have single-deck BJ, you asked for it and now we have it", not saying a thing about the 6/5 change. They literally have suckered hundreds of people who really don't know why single deck games are better in the first place into playing this variety.

I'll still take single deck over 6 and 8 decks. They cut it so deep you can't even remotely get an edge counting cards, at least single deck you can.
The other night I had the dealer draw to 21 on 7 of 9 hands. 16 boom 5, 15 boom 6, 14 boom 7 on and on. Too many cards, maybe its just me but I win at single deck and get my ass kicked at the 6 and 8 decks.
How do you guys fare at the 6 and 8 decks? How do you play?

Single deck, 3-2 BJ PO...anything else would be uncivilized.

If you play video poker on the optimum play 100+ machines... The Casino cannot win long term if you are playing correctly. Group of 4 playing last night at Sunset station. Player 1 up $ 2200 Player 2 up $ 975 Player 3 up $ 1070 Myself wasted a decent gain to finish + $.50 just so I didn't go home a loser. However all the above figures did not take into consideration the points We were all racking up and I for one was on my 5 times reg bonus day. By the way 3 of us ate at the Costa Del Sol using our points and all had the Lobster and several drinks for a cost of nothing but the tip. I really don't understand why intelligent people will sit right next to us and be playing 97 % machines and losing their as--s ? This is not to say that the same 4 players can all play the same 100+ machines on any given night and all 4 of us lose $$. However, once you know that long term We will come out ahead makes losing nights not really hurt all that much. Just putting in my 2 cents worth for all you non believers!

Have you tried any local casinos Gyno?

Once in my life @ Morongo(Hate that place) about 4 years ago and made about $145 playing BJ. At that time they were taking .50 cents a hand, I don't think they do that anymore... How about you?

Not knowing the 100 % + machines is not in any way ignorance. Most tourists and novices really never even think about it and blindly believe that all machines are the same. For instance the game of Jacks or better.....
The best pay schedule is where a full house pays 9 times your bet and a Flush pays 6 times your wager and 2 pairs pays double. However some pay 8 and 5 times and some pay 7 and 5 and I have seen many on strip pay 6 and 5 ! Would you rather get 45 Dollars for a full house or $30 ?
Full pay Double bunus pays 10,7,5 times for Full house, Flush and Straight. Most pay only 9,6,4 or even less. Go to www.wizardofodds and learn which games to play and how to play them. It's free to practice and learn to play correctly without losing you paycheck at machines that are long term totally unbeatable !There are a number of differnt Video Poker games that pay over 100 % like full pay deuces wild and double double bonus GL !

thanks kermit, very good info!!

tennis, if you are going to play blackjack and don't know what you are doing, well that does hurt me because i think most people expect you to at least follow standard blackjack play. but i will say it seems more often than not when people play stupid it screws the table, for example the dealer has a five showing, this girl next to me has a 13 against a dealers 5, she hits, she gets a 7, she is all excited she has a 20, dealer flips a 10 for 15 the 7 would have busted the dealer, instead she took the 7 the dealer flips up a 4 for 19, my 18 and 100 dollar bet loses, her 20 and 10 dollar bet wins but the rest of the table lost when the entire table should have won. At this specific casino people do this all the time.
So if you have a 12 and the dealer has a face, you stay. So you are counting on the dealer busting, thus the dealer has to have a 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 then in turn follow that with a card that will bust them, clearly the odds are not in your favor with that play.
