well, Im not 100% if that is accurate, it might be, but I can tell you that only 9 of the last 15 teams that won game 1, won the cup. there were 6 occasions in the past 15 years where the team that lost game 1, still won the cup.

i heard it on tsn...maybe it was 39 out of 52..do u have a site that can resolve this....

one stat i know for sure is that a european captain has never won the cup.

that might be so, but if you look at the bast 15 years its only 9 teams, that is more relevant history.

the only reason is coz there hasnt been many euro captains, and most of them have only entered the league in the past 20-30 years..... this stat will change.
