I don't really know what I want to bet for MVP, Cy Young and Rookie of the Year. I was considering Jose Ramirez and Rafael Devers for AL MVP, Jordan Walker for NL Rookie of the Year and Acuna for NL MVP. I'm not ready to act on any of that yet. What I do know is I'm excited for baseball season. Baseball is my favorite sport and I can't wait for Thursday. I will have a couple bets on Opening Day.

What are your thoughts on the Stros not winning so many games? Just curious.

Health is one reason. Altuve being out for a couple months concerns me. Alvarez has these recurring hand issues. Brantley is a big health risk. Verlander is gone and McCullers is hurt again. I believe Seattle has the talent to be a 90+ win team and the Angels improved their depth. We all know how good Trout and Ohtani are, but the supporting cast has been an issue. Adding players like Urshela, Renfroe and Tyler Anderson is important. Maybe Rendon will actually stay healthy this year. If he does, Trout-Ohtani-Rendon is a devastating trio. I like the Jose Abreu addition for Houston and I certainly don’t think they are going to be bad. However, I think they are going to be down a bit based on the reasons I said as well as a potential World Series hangover.

Vlad Guerrero Jr. to win AL MVP (+1200), 1*
Jordan Walker to win NL Rookie of the Year (+360), 1*
Shane Bieber to win AL Cy Young (+1000), 1*
Luis Castillo to win AL Cy Young (+1700), 1*
Phillies over 87.5 (-110), 2*

Here are the rest of my futures. I will add a couple things during the season once I see some of these players in action. There are things I like, but I’m not willing to bet right now. Goldschmidt at 15/1 to win MVP is a good price, I just don’t know if people are going to pick him two years in a row. I think one of Volpe, Yoshida, or Casas wins AL ROTY. Maybe the strategy is wait and see if one gets off to a quick start, then bet one of the other two at a better price. I usually don’t like betting favorites, however, Jordan Walker is an exception. He looks like a stud and plays like one too. I’m not saying favorites won’t win the other awards. Alcantara can win Cy Young again. Soto and Ohtani can absolutely win MVP. I prefer to try and find value a little bit down the board in most cases.

I will post a few bets for today once I have them figured out.

March 30th

Red Sox ML (-125), 2*
Mets ML (-125), 2*

I recommend always using listed pitchers when placing a bet. That way if someone gets scratched shortly before game time, you aren’t on the hook for the bet. Your bet would be voided and then you can decide if you want to bet on or against the team with the new pitcher. Good luck!

I lean Giants to win the series against the Yankees. You can get in the neighborhood of +150 if you are interested. I was going to bet it, but the Giants lineup is thin to start the year. They have several guys on the IL including their corner outfielders. The Yankees are throwing Socrates Brito in game three, which is very winnable for the Giants. However, they are probably going to lose today which would put them in a spot to have to win both game two and three. So I ultimately passed.

It's not Socrates Brito.

Good call on the Mets
.
Boston nearly came back
Yea that was the worst way to lose with Boston. They walk nine guys and give up five steals. Then they cut it to one with the winning run on second and come up short. Idk how many outings Kluber is going to be wild considering his career BB/9 is right around 2.00. But his wildness carried over to some of the bullpen.

Mariners ML (-120), 2*
Angels -1.5 (-115), 2*

I know the Angels are a square bet. I’m not going to lay -200, but I don’t mind the runline for this one. I like betting run line’s on road teams if I’m going to do it because they are guaranteed to bat nine times. This is such a mismatch from top to bottom. I think four runs will do it from LA which is more then feasible against Kyle Muller and the A’s bullpen.

Yesterday: 3-2/YTD: 3-2, +1.6

March 31st

Lance Lynn over 5.5 strikeouts (-105), 1*

I’m going to have strikeout props throughout the season, providing they go well. I will be betting them small for the first week or two so I can build up a sample before I increase the bet size to a standard amount. There are no day games so I will update later with my bets for tonight.
