Former Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Maliek Collins just received a sizable raise from the Houston Texans. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Collins signed a two-year, $23 million contract extension with the Texans as training camp nears.
“The Texans and DT Maliek Collins have agreed to terms on a 2-year, $23M extension, source said,” Rapoport tweeted on June 14, 2023. “Some business handled before the summer.”

Collins was selected by the Cowboys in the third round of the 2016 NFL draft. The veteran spent his first four seasons as a Cowboys starter before signing with the Raiders in 2020. Collins signed a four-year, $3.5 million rookie contract with Dallas.
The defender initially joined the Texans in 2021. Prior to his recent contract extension, Collins inked a two-year, $17 million deal with Houston that ran through this upcoming season.
According to Houston KPRC’s Aaron Wilson, Collins’ latest contract extension has $20 million of guaranteed money. Collins notched 37 tackles, 10 quarterback hits, 9 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks in 15 starts during the 2022 season.

All signs point to DeAndre Hopkins signing with the New England Patriots this offseason.

Last week, the free-agent wide receiver took a multi-day visit to Foxborough to meet with Bill Belichick and the Pats organization. This visit apparently went very well.

According to DraftKings, the Patriots are overwhelming favorites to land D-Hop at +100. The Bills have the next best odds at +350, followed by the Titans at +400 and the Lions at +500.

During his visit, Hopkins posed for a photo with New England pass rusher Matthew Judon, who's been attempting to recruit D-Hop to the team since he was dropped by the Arizona Cardinals earlier this year.

"La Familia," Hopkins wrote as the caption.

The DeAndre Hopkins free-agency sweepstakes could be coming to an end soon. Much like his market earlier in the offseason, when the Arizona Cardinals were attempting to trade him, it has been slow developing.

The Cardinals released Hopkins last month after no trade partner could be found. He was immediately connected to several teams, as he revealed which quarterbacks around the league he would like to play with.

Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts, Lamar Jackson, Justin Herbert and Patrick Mahomes were the players that DeAndre Hopkins mentioned. Alas, none of those teams seriously got involved in pursuing him even after he hit the open market.

However, it does sound as if a decision about where Hopkins will be playing in 2023 is getting near. According to Diana Russini of ESPN, he has narrowed his choices down to the Tennessee Titans and New England Patriots. However, she did caution this isn’t something that will get done instantly as the former All-Pro wide receiver is going to take his time.
