ok have at it. the pow spreadsheets is posted below.

i did make one change to the grading sheet, i took out all of the pow wins from my record (dont want to boat my w/l record) and they are now shown in a seperate capper line called POW

just remember any pow i post are only my optinions and i NEVER bet any of my own optinions. if i get anything that from another source that i deem worth i'll make sure it's noted as that.

below is also the leader board down to w/l of 60% YTD.

one thing of note. we had a few guys that were above and beyond in terms of the lost number, but they went south and have not posted since. it's very important that these cappers continue to post, cause without them we only have coin flippers and they aint worth shit

i'll be back in a few with the number of pow for week #4

if you have any questions on the grading from any previous week let me know here vs the previous weeks thread as i want those as dead puppies

thanks again to everyone that has posted, and please continue to do so, especially the week day games

welcome to the cfb Promise Land. week #3 pow thread is dead, so if you had any questions hanging there post them here. i'll update the spreadsheets and make sure i have all the data for the schedule for this week correct and upload the spreadsheets here in a few.

this week POW's will be the same as last week (5 for SAT Period). use them all or not it's your choice. on top of that you have 1 free POW for each of the week day games which to me are the most important for playing or fading so those are 1 for thur and 1 for friday. these CANT be added to sat if you dont use them. your call

so to recap
1-Thu S car vs miss (free to everyone)
1-Fri Nev vs Mizz (free to everyone)
5 Sat (no adding thur or fri games if you dont like them

POW History (From week #1 pow thread)

For those that have never followed one of my POW threads, I post at the start of each week the max number of CFB plays for the week. There will always be 5 games on sat and 1 game for every day that games are played.

For week #3 there will be slots for the following:
Thu Sept 19 – 1 (Free Game cant be added to sat pow's)
Fri Sep 20 - 1 (Free Game cant be added to sat pow's)

all posted plays count for w/l records.

Week #3 will have a max of 5 POW max. any week day game is a free pow day and everyone can have a play on that game. but if you dont use it you lose it

Also NO Over and Under, nor ML bets as a POW, and last but not least all grading will be based on the Closing Line at Cris (Which is what is also posted in the scores for Don Best) so don’t bother to put your number as I could care less that you got it for -1.5 at wherever. If it closed at-14 that's your number. The purpose to have everyone that checks out the weekly posts etc will get a chance to get the same number and either follows and fade away

I'll also post all my swag plays as well but after week #3 they will be based on the data of everyone’s picks vs. my wild ass guesses
Below is the hall of fame for the previous POW winners dating back to 2001: Enjoy

POW History & Hall of Fame or Shame
The credit for coming up with a POW thread in the Rx started with a long time in and out of favor member of the Rx Kodiak7. It was about the time that he was banned for the X amount of time, who keep track when you’re having fun. His thought was that if you go a bunch of cappers to come up with their best pick of the week, you would have some good games to bet on and then win.

So K7, was banned just after he proposed the idea, and I just picked it up in the middle of the season and ran with the ball.
But if fact the opposite effect happened, it soon became apparent that when the majority of people were on the same game, that game would lose, so thus was born the POW thread, which is now going to be in its 7th year. (Skipped 07-08 cause of my x uncle)

POW Hall of Fame (Shame) and where they are now 2001 started in mid year, I can’t even find a spreadsheet from that far back, but I can remember anyone being close to .500. You could have faded every pick and been rich

2002 Jarbo, hands down the head of the class that year. Never saw him without a Cuban in his mouth. He knew his shit when it came to Iowa football. I know he had a knee operation a couple of year’s back which was coming along fine. I was told that he's been banned for life from the Rx, heard he banged one of the mods wife or girl or boyfriend. Stories get twisted around when told more than once.

2003 Jimmymo, out of the west came this stranger on a large white horse. Who was this mask man? That was sure a long time ago, jimmymo would come out to Vegas, we would get all fuck up, chase women (or young men with tight asses) He sure could pick winners. Than jimmymo jumped ship and became a partner at another law firm up the Seattle area, and he now just a money hungry lawyer with the fastest law suits in town. I sure miss the old jimmymo

2004 wvgolfeer, this guy didn’t even own a pair of shoes when he started posting in the Rx POW thread, but it soon became apparent that if he could stay off the moon shine, he was a force to deal with. He won that year going away. Took 1st prize, pawned it and bought 20% of West Virginia, and now has one of the largest stills in the hills. I like that "stills in the hills" maybe they will make a movie about it.

2005 dawoofdaddy, mr doom and gloom, but one hell of a fun poster. In 13 weeks I don’t think anyone posted a POW in the thread before he did. Now talk about a no posting early. The POW thread w/l is based upon closing lines, so it did not make any difference that he got it at -7, and the line was now -14- he still won the whole thing.

2006 colweather finished that year at 45-24 65.2%. But it was a very close year as ragarm2 was 36-17 for 67.9% but sammythesage was even higher at 21-7 75% for the year in the POW thread. So I use a calc based on -110 bet per game and coldweather just edged out ragarm2 (who might be my long lost son from Viet Nam) by $130

There you have it the dirty half dozen. Can anyone win it twice? Fuck no, no one has and I doubt that anyone ever will.

I'm in the process of digging out all the spreadsheet from last year and will post them in the thread. it's good data to download, not for everyone’s picks, but it does have a complete spreadsheet for every game last year including the final score, opening and closing lines and w/l against the spreads

i'll put up an update spreadsheet with all the Week #4 schedule and OL but last week they didnt come up until way after la la land. if they come earlier than i'll put it here as it makes a good source for tracking OL etc

so as the old saying goes

post em if you got em

dont really expect to have the cfb ol numbers today, but we'll see said the blind man

pops, thanks again for the work.

Couple questions:

  • on the pivot page, why isn't the grand total in the first table on the left the same as the rest(it's 125 vs 138 on the next 2- what is being left out here?)
  • what is the cutoff between a simple majority and a mp?
  • fwts = fave with spread, i.e. team x opens at -7 and closes at -8?
May have some more later. Thanks!

fwts yes, but remember i have my fav numbers are show as a positive number and if they are a home dog it shows as a minus b4 the number. everything is always measure against the home team vs the OL fav

sm and mp form is located in col w and goes off of the ratio of col q (home POW) and r (vis pow) MP is 2/1 or greater. anything less is just a sm or simple majority. if col W is blank the home and vis pow are the same or even could be zero

the 1st pivot table only represents SM or MP so when you have 0-0 or 1-1 it would not show up. the 2nd pivot is everything measured off of the home team

let me know if have any more

all of the weeks are in the spreadsheet i uploaded. look at the tab's at the bottom. you will see Week #1 Work Sheet as well as #2 and #3. plus you can just use the drop down filter arrows above the pivot table. eg the 1st one you ref in row 1 col b it say's (multiple items) now. if you click on that drop down arrow to the right of it you will see week 1, 2 and 3 checked. same goes for all of the pivot table you can expand or contract as you see fit

lol...thanks- i remember in ncaafb people generally make their cash in the first week or two before giving all back the following couple of weeks and more. I couldn't remember when/if that turning point was for professional foots

if i do have any nfl plays i will post them here. i'll never post any 2nd half plays in any sport as it's all programmed lines generated by the OS and it's easy for them to see the type of calc im using to against them. happened to me in the past on both nba and cbb and not going to make the same mistake again
