For those that have never followed one of my POW threads, I post at the start of each week the max number of CFB plays for the week. There will always be 3 games on sat and 1 game for every day that games are played.

For week #1 there will be slots for the following:
Thu Sept 3 – 1
Fri Sep 4 - 1
Sat Sep 5 - 3
Sun Sep 6 - 1
Mon Sep 7 - 1

Week #1 will have a max of 8 POW allowed. If you don’t like any of the weekly games and want to play the entire 8 on sat its fine with me. Just a little more work on my part and in the spreadsheet your extra sat games will be put in the week day games

Also NO Over and Under, nor ML bets as a POW, and last but not least all grading will be based on the Closing Line at Cris (Which is what is also posted in the scores for Don Best) so don’t bother to put your number as I could care less that you got it for -1.5 at wherever. If it closed at-14 that's your number. The purpose to have everyone that checks out the weekly posts etc will get a chance to get the same number and either follows and fade away

I'll also post all my swag plays as well but after week #3 they will be based on the data of everyone’s picks vs. my wild ass guesses
Below is the hall of fame for the previous POW winners dating back to 2001: Enjoy

POW History & Hall of Fame or Shame
The credit for coming up with a POW thread in the Rx started with a long time in and out of favor member of the Rx Kodiak7. It was about the time that he was banned for the X amount of time, who keep track when you’re having fun. His thought was that if you go a bunch of cappers to come up with their best pick of the week, you would have some good games to bet on and then win.
<o:p> </o:p>
So K7, was banned just after he proposed the idea, and I just picked it up in the middle of the season and ran with the ball.
But if fact the opposite effect happened, it soon became apparent that when the majority of people were on the same game, that game would lose, so thus was born the POW thread, which is now going to be in its 7th year. (Skipped 07-08 cause of my x uncle)
<o:p> </o:p>
POW Hall of Fame (Shame) and where they are now 2001 started in mid year, I can’t even find a spreadsheet from that far back, but I can remember anyone being close to .500. You could have faded every pick and been rich

2002 Jarbo, hands down the head of the class that year. Never saw him without a Cuban in his mouth. He knew his shit when it came to Iowa football. I know he had a knee operation a couple of year’s back which was coming along fine. I was told that he's been banned for life from the Rx, heard he banged one of the mods wife or girl or boyfriend. Stories get twisted around when told more than once.
<o:p> </o:p>
2003 Jimmymo, out of the west came this stranger on a large white horse. Who was this mask man? That was sure a long time ago, jimmymo would come out to Vegas, we would get all fuck up, chase women (or young men with tight asses) He sure could pick winners. Than jimmymo jumped ship and became a partner at another law firm up the Seattle area, and he now just a money hungry lawyer with the fastest law suits in town. I sure miss the old jimmymo

2004 wvgolfeer, this guy didn’t even own a pair of shoes when he started posting in the Rx POW thread, but it soon became apparent that if he could stay off the moon shine, he was a force to deal with. He won that year going away. Took 1st prize, pawned it and bought 20% of West Virginia, and now has one of the largest stills in the hills. I like that "stills in the hills" maybe they will make a movie about it.
<o:p> </o:p>
2005 dawoofdaddy, mr doom and gloom, but one hell of a fun poster. In 13 weeks I don’t think anyone posted a POW in the thread before he did. Now talk about a no posting early. The POW thread w/l is based upon closing lines, so it did not make any difference that he got it at -7, and the line was now -14- he still won the whole thing.
<o:p> </o:p>
2006 colweather finished that year at 45-24 65.2%. But it was a very close year as ragarm2 was 36-17 for 67.9% but sammythesage was even higher at 21-7 75% for the year in the POW thread. So I use a calc based on -110 bet per game and coldweather just edged out ragarm2 (who might be my long lost son from Viet Nam) by $130

There you have it the dirty half dozen. Can anyone win it twice? Fuck no, no one has and I doubt that anyone ever will.

I'm in the process of digging out all the spreadsheet from last year and will post them in the thread. it's good data to download, not for everyone’s picks, but it does have a complete spreadsheet for every game last year including the final score, opening and closing lines and w/l against the spreads

so as the old saying goes

post em if you got em

Holy Sh*t....good to see you post the thread pops...always one of my favorites.

Still trying to forgive myself for the air force play that lost us the 8 team parlay a couple years back....say hello to jake and the better half for me.

best of luck this season (although I know you don't need luck to get the best of it)...

Pops, good to see you doing this again - I know " true " opening lines are very important to you so where will you be getting the true opening lines from this year?

Its good to see you back around and with the POW thread pops. I dont really like the Fri, Sunday or Monday games, but a few of the games I like are Thursday games. Will post 5 other Saturday games after books give more of an indication where lines are going to settle.

1. North Carolina State

2. Utah State

3. North Texas

Pops - when I go to open the spreadsheets it tells me that the file was created by a newer version of Microsoft excel - therefore it won't let me open it - any suggestions!
