This world is becoming one f'ed up place. I'm glad I won't be around in 50 years (knock wood) to see how messed up it is by then. There is a lot of places to place blame, but ultimately it's just sad. I can't watch.

Blame squarely lies with parents for making the kid believe he's a defect of nature and requires drugs to function, rather than taking the time to give him a proper upbringing and make him realize that he's as fine an example of God's creatures as anyone else.

True to form for these types of morons, they try to point fingers at the website, the internet community, the gov't and everyone but themselves.

Horrendous parenting is becoming an epidemic these days quite sadly.

Oh, definatly not. It's a summarization of what unfolded. No suicide vid or anything of the sort.

I knew yahoo would never openly or knowingly host something like that.

Thanks Rob. Suicide is an awful thing. I hate it for anyone involved. It is a selfish act (I know personally). People considering it need support. It is a shame that they do not confide with love ones before they act.

Depression is difficult to cope with, particularly if you're young.
The brain is a power tool, and if you turn on yourself, it can be highly destructive, and it's an involuntarity thing that's hard to control, sometimes impossible to control because your brain becomes very active and generates huge feelings of negativity.

I had a few months of depression when I was about 20, and it was not a pleasant experience.

I managed to get out of it by saying two words non-stop in my head for a couple of months.

"don't think"

Eventually as soon as I felt "it starting up again" my brain would say those words automatically, overwhelming the feelings of anger and frustration and self-loathing.

"don't think don't think don't think don't think"
Sometimes for many hours at a time.

Took a while though, and not much fun.

I've been depressed. Failed at something I REALLY wanted to achieve. When i was close to failure, I kept saying I'm going to kill myself if i don't succeed. I failed. And you know what ? I was very sad for awhile. But, I set some new goals for myself, and got my life back in order.

HOPE. Thats all u need to survive.

People that committ suicide are pathetic individuals, and deserve no pitty. Say you are addicted to drugs. It ain't easy to quit by any means. But you know what ? The brain is a powerful thing. You can absolutley quit. And you know what ? You can bounce back, set some new goals for yourself, get a better life. I guess if you are too lazy, you will kill yourself. Some of you blame the parents. Yes, the parents play a small part, but it is up to the individual. At 20 years old, you can think for yourself. If you are too stupid to understand how prescious life is, yes, go talk to somebody. But if you have half a brain, you can get out of your depression yourself.

How will we better our society, and our future ? Wash the world from pathetic individuals who think such negativity.

I know I am extremist in my point of views, but this world has always been about 'the strong survive'. Suicide is just rinsing the world of the weak. That is all.

A 42-year-old Briton has hanged himself in front of a webcam watched by many users in an internet chatroom. The man identified as Kevin Whitrick, a father of two children. He had separated from his wife Paula, who lives nearby with their children.
According to media reports, one online chatter, in light mood, urged him: "Go on, jump! I'm waiting. Look at him wriggling, he can't even kill himself properly!"
Giving all chatters a huge shock, Whitrick stepped off a chair with a rope round his neck looped over a joist in his flat.
A newspaper quoted an anonymous chatter as saying, "He tied a rope around an uncovered ceiling joist and stood on the chair as he tied the rope around his neck."
"Some of us chatroom users, talking to Kevin over text chat, microphones and video tried to convince him to step down, but others egged him on telling him to get on with it. We just couldn't believe he was doing it - it was surreal."
Police confirmed that Mr Whitrick was using a webcam in an internet chat room at the time of his death. Media reports said it was Britain's first 'online suicide'.

I am so thankful I don't have kids as the entire population meltdown is
in full force

Wait till the economy fully collapses worldwide as these incidents will
be as common as Larry Craig sucking off a Police Officer in a mens
bathroom stall
