According to Dr. Lawrence Britt's "14 Defining Characteristics of Fascism," we are in big trouble here in the Disunited States of America. While the American right continues to laugh at our comparisons of Bush's ongoing rhetoric and the rhetoric of fascist dictator Adolf Hitler, it is no laughing matter.
We do not make these comparisons lightly, nor do they give us joy.
Dr. Britt named these as the fourteen defining characteristics of fascism:

o Powerful and continuing nationalism
o Disdain for the recognition of human rights
o Identification of enemies as a unifying cause
o Supremacy of the military
o Rampant sexism
o Controlled mass media
o Obsession with national security
o Religion and government intertwined
o Corporate power protected
o Labor power suppressed
o Disdain for intellectuals and the arts
o Obsession with crime and punishment
o Rampant cronyism and corruption
o Fraudulent elections

What Nationalism? Where are the policies that emphasize nationalism?

Where are the mass arrests? Where are the human rights violations?

Yup! 911 didn't happen - those three thousand deaths were a figment of our imagination. The US has enemies who would destroy us - that's a fact.

o Supremacy of the military
When the military starts getting 60% or 70% of the budget - when consciption comes back - when Generals are feared.

o Rampant sexism
Huh? I argue with my wife about once a month - it doesn't mean I'm a sexist - it meeans I don't agree with her.

o Controlled mass media
Yuh! Right! What controlled media are you talking about? The internet? CNN? The NY Times? Dan Rather was sure controlled, wasn't he. Michael Moore is another guy that was controlled, right.

o Obsession with national security
We think national security is important - we're not obsessed with it - as a matter of fact, you moonbats are obsessed with our concern over national security.

o Religion and government intertwined
I must agree that nthe religion of secular humanism is deeply intertwinerd in the government.

o Fraudulent elections
The only fraudulent elections in this country are at the county and local level - and they are few and far between.

o Corporate power protected
I agree that big unions and the ACLU are protected by the government - this is wrong.

o Labor power suppressed
That's a lie - big labor is stronger than ever in the government - Corporations give employees good pay and benefits to keep unions out - a union benefit we all enjoy.

o Disdain for intellectuals and the arts
I have a disdain for pseudo-intellectualism and for pornography that tries to fake itself as art. Intellectuals have open minds and invite debate - pseudo-intellectuals produce nothing but hate and envy. Artists produce art - pornographers produce smut.

o Obsession with crime and punishment
I agree - I'm obsessed that seeing that criminals are treated as criminals and not as victims - and that their victims are treated as victims and not as criminals - there's nothing wrong with giving a criminal his just deserts.

o Rampant cronyism and corruption
The only rampant cronyism and corruption I ever see are in the big city Democrat political machines - Chicago is a p[erfecrt example of rampant cronyism and corruption.


This list is a crop of crap - if it were true, you moonbats would be rotting in a concentration camp along with the criminals and perverts that you so glibly protect.

fascism has many variations however a few common themes

1. All fascist movements advocate nationalism especially ethnic nationalism and seek to integrate as many of their dominant nationality's people and as much of their people's territory into the state.

2. Fascists opposed what they believed to be laissez-faire or quasi-laissez-faire economic policies.

as far as im concerned, Israel has enough military force to defend themselves.
