Bama + 13, Under 57.5

I just cannot see this game going over 50.5, let alone 57.5

This will be the best defense UGA has faced all season, period. I don't think UGA can score 20 vs Bama. without TO's. Can UGA hold Bama under 14, perhaps, but Saban is a master at big game prep. His only chance is holding UGA under 20. Givin up 10 to Bama is a winner for UGA, anything over 14 is a problem.

What are you're thoughts about the game?

If anything the OT's might wear on Bama more then anything else. But, these are 20 yo in the prime of their lives, conditioned for 600+ days at the highest levels of D1 ball.

My first thought was Georgia
I do think without a doubt they are the best team
But if you look at who they beat they didn't play anyone with a good passing game
Alabama is well rounded enough and Georgias offense isn't great
Seems like a closer game then I originally thought
I think I would take the 6-7 or so
I hate saying that because my original though was Georgia
Probably will not even play this game

Bama +7 - don't overthink this one. The BCS wants both of these teams in the playoff and the ONLY way for that to happen is for Bama to beat GA.

I am also taking Baylor over Ok State and Houston to beat Cincy.

This makes the top four

1) Bama
2) Michigan
3) Georgia
4) Notre Dame

This would potentially be the highest revenue BCS playoff there has ever been.

Bama OL will have problems with GA front 7.... will Saban still try to run on GA and stick to his standard passing game, OR use the skill set he has at QB to throw short passes, move around with quick hitting passes and mix in some runs, pepper GA with a ball control passing game?

And I agree GA has not seen a passer like Young with a supporting cast like Alabama's.

UGA's defense is going to travel this week and stuff Bama, period. Saban is going to have to win with 20 or less points in this game. He will not have much of a running game, he will have to find space in UGA's secondary for quick, tight, accurate throws. He has the WR's and QB, his challenge will be the OL.

NO picks from either team period, this game will turn on a pick.

Saban will also need a special teams victory here. FG's, return yards, ect. Nothing will come easy vs either defense.

All of the same things can be said for UGA. No running game, ect. Smart will need Bennett to play his best passing game ever. WR's will be challenged at the LOS, Bennett will be pressured at all times. Tight, accurate throws are his only option.

Again special teams victories are critical for UGA. FG's, return yards, ect.

If the playoff bosses can really manipulate outcomes to produce Gasman's playoff outcome, it will show up in down field PI calls against UGA, critical holding calls work too, and so do TO's.

Converting 3rd downs are critical here, both QB's will need to run at critical times, I give Bama the edge here.

Agreed Codebreaker - just takes 1, 2 maybe 3 crucial calls in key situations in a tightly contested contest like this to determine the outcome. Nevertheless, Saban is an excellent coach....even thought their talent may be down a bit Georgia has not faced an O-line like this, ever. They are a pressure/blitz/man cover defense - if anyone can negate that push it's Saban.

I have played the playoff scenarios like this for years with pretty solid returns. It's amazing the calls we will see go against Ok State, GA and Cincy this wkend. Anyways, glad to contribute to your thread.

No disrespect to anyone saban a great coach but this team all year has not seemed focused and saban has said as much

Both teams played auburn and Arkansas and ga rolled pass both while Bama barely won

in the auburn game Bama didn't as much win as auburn Loss make no mistake ga coach won't make that mistake

auburn should have known to keep the ball in bounds Bama couldn't have had enough time to score

Second how many time's have we seen prevent defense is stupid you just lose

auburn defense laid back and let Bama pass make no mistake ga will not do this

its a game and why they call it gambling but I see ga rolling and not letting off the gas

ga first half and game I win big or lose...

its really hard to back Alabama against this defense when Bill Obrien is the offensive coordinator.
he is awful, alabama has little to no running game and thats unheard of in tuscaloosa
this game could turn on a turnover, punt return or even a targeting call.
im hoping someone hires bill obrien as a coach today so he isnt on the sidelines tomorrow.
best georgia in a long time. if they avoid mistakes on offense i have a hard time seeing them losing this game

The referees making a few calls to help Alabama is far-fetched, and that's being kind.

And their OL has not been that consistent, especially in pass protection. Auburn was in the backfield all night. Georgia's DC, Dan Lanning, could lose this game for Georgia by allowing Bryce Young to get comfortable in the pocket. Young is good at moving in the pocket, but not much of a running threat.

Bennett has not been pressured this year, UGA is giving up .7 sacks per game. Bama avgs 3.6 sacks per game. Having been apart of a defense that only gave up 8.3 points a game, I can tell you Bama is coming after Bennett. UGA has a very average running game, Bama will challenge the WR's at the LOS with 1st round draft talent, and attack Bennett with a stacked NFL laden front 7.

UGA will play like a defense averaging 7.6 points a game vs Bama. Bama has a avg running game also. WR's will be attacked at the LOS and Young will be chased by a NFL laden front 7.

Young is a better passer when flushed from the pocket,
Bennett has had the luxury of making throws from the pocket, with minimal pressure.

The team with the QB that performs better, will win this game. Is Bennett the guy to beat Bama by 7?

The last time Bama was a dog was in Athens, 6 years ago, +1.5. Bama won the game 38-10, just sayin. This game will be closer to 17-14, 12-9, 2-0. : )

The manipulating a game to get more revenue has come up for decades.
You know how many people would have to be involved to pull it off every year?
There have been no books written about this and someone would write one for $$$$......therefore it doesn't happen.

If one SEC big shot confidentially tells the ref, and one other official, separately, to get Bama in, it could radically turn the game around. Holding call on OL, pass interference calls... that would be enough.

Also GA has played a much weaker SEC schedule, did not face a primo passer all year, Bama SOS 18, GA 51. Bama very thin at RB, though.

I might pass on this one... but watch the entire thing.

In college we lost ATS by one point in a game we were heavily favored. It was a blocked punt return for 7, with 57 seconds left on the clock. It looked so obvious that we threw the game, it was all over campus., the over hit by 1/2 a point.

I was on the punt unit and the team we played obviously was coming after the punt. We'd count assignments and they'd move. We counted again and they moved. Finally the upback signaled and we went max protect. This all took time, meanwhile the long snapper is looking thru is legs at the punter and notices the end zone clock says 01 second, he snaps the ball, no one is ready, the upback blocked to the outside, missing the guy right up the middle.
We hear that double thump and it was a scoop and score. They kicked extra point, but, failed the onside kick, it was over.

BTW The clock was really at 10 seconds not 01.

The upback never played again, the deep snapper was up with the strength coach at 6am for 4 weeks.

I can't speak for the refs, but I never got a penalty I did not deserve.

Bama's only chance in this game is IF they had multiple big plays in their passing game. They won't be able to run on Georgia.....and the good news is that Bama won't even try. My opinion is that Georgia's defensive backfield and their pass rush will able to handle Bama.

Georgia 35-17
