A lot of middle power 5 teams if they played ND on 10/2

if UC played them 11/27 ND would be undefeated
One way thinking
You could do that with every team
ND was also at home so that doesn't say much
What if it was a neutral field?
What if ND now played Wisky now on a neutral field?
So on and so on it goes
But a good case for an 8 team playoff
Some times you have a team evolve and maybe are one of the best teams by the end of the year but have too many losses
Is what it is
No perfect solution

Four team parlay, Houston, Georgia, Iowa, and Baylor pays about 63:1, so unlikely. If it should happen, I would expect four playoff teams to be Georgia, Notre Dame, Alabama, Baylor.

You still think Bama gets in as a two-loss non conference champ?

They've looked shaky enough in some of their wins, plus that A&M loss is pretty bad

I think 'Bama gets in before a two loss Iowa, despite Iowa being conference champion. Iowa has had its own struggles. Could depend upon how close the loss to Georgia. I think Cincinnati is out with a loss. Baylor, Iowa, Ohio State, Michigan....any one of those four could get the fourth spot. Iowa's two losses, Purdue and Wisconsin, worse than 'Bama's to A & M and Georgia. Just my opinion.

Yeah I tend to agree that they're not dead if chaos happens and their loss to Georgia is reasonably close. I picked Iowa only because of the conference championship in a strong conference like the Big Ten. Iowa is probably the worst of those teams though

If goal is to choose the best four teams, should Cincinnati be in the playoffs with a win? Are they a better team than Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, Oklahoma State? Similar to the BYU argument from 1984.

Better team means nothing
It is very subjective
While there is some subjectivity to picking teams because they have different schedules, wins and losses have to play a majority of the factor

And if Bama loses the SEC Championship game they should not be in under any circumstances
I do not think any team has made it in losing their Championship
If you have 1 loss fine
Two losses ....I and no SEC title... can't see any scenario where they deserve it

If the scenario in the thread title plays out, who do you think are the 4 then, plus Oregon loses

Would likely have to consider two-loss non champs

I’d probably flip Baylor for Houston. They won’t let a G5 team in unless they’re undefeated

Alabama beats Georgia

Michigan wins easy vs. Iowa

Cincinnati beats Houston in OT

Baylor will grind out a win against Oak st.

ALABAMA 1
GEORGIA 2
MICHIGAN 3
NOTRE DAME 4

This will be your playoff.................................

Are you really putting in a 1 loss ND team who had their loss to Cincy over an undefeated Cincy team?
Please tell me you are joking
