Top 3 or maybe even top 5?

I'm going with ZERO

Why is that? Because you need to pay the boys in the trenches too, not just the glamour positions

It’s a GOOD thing that TB12 married a super model who makes more than him.

to win a super bowl you either need 1) a qb on his rookie deal or 2)TB12

Undeniably true

Maybe we should add Gisele to the Patriots' HOF

Peyton Manning won a few making top dollars, maybe he's the GOAT given how hard that supposedly is. At the rate we're going, why not?

Not top 5
But gotta admit it is an interesting stat
Once in over 20 years
Given the importance of elite QB
Maybe it says more about overpaying because QB is so important
Either way relevant stat I suppose

He was 6th both times and obviously he was a top paid QB for the entirety of his career, so when he's 4th instead of 7th his teams can't win? Is that why he threw the INT at the end of superbowl 44?

It is largely the type of small sample correlation/causation stat that people tend to overrate....The difference between being 3rd on the list and 8th is about what an extra decent starter or two costs. Not like you get to add Aaron Donald with Brady's hometown discount.

If the guy is good enough, it is nice to get a QB on his rookie deal and make that run but it isn't exactly an all or nothing proposition.

The 9ers almost won the SB in 2019 with Garapollo making big money, and he's not even good.

Lot of ways to skin a cat.

I think it is just odds
It isn't like a guarantee
All top Qbs get high pay but as new contracts come up they eat up space and those not willing to take less tend to hurt their team
There will be no one stat you can find that guarantees everything
No 100% thing that is 1000-0 that guarantees anything
Whole picture
Just interesting

QB's are under pressure from the players union and agents to get the highest contract possible. Tom Brady being who he is doesn't have to answer to anyone. Even if his wife wasn't wealthy from her modeling career Tom would always do a team friendly deal. To him Super Bowls are worth more than a few extra million dollars. Whatever Tom gave up in contracts he more than made up in endorsement deals. Matt Ryan broke the bank with the Falcons how has that worked out. He got to one Super Bowl and lost though it wasn't his fault. Dak Prescott wanted every dollar. He has done well in endorsements. It's going to hinder the Cowboys every year in signing free agents and keeping great players on the team. Russell Wilson also wanted top dollar. He was entitled. He was a second round pick so he missed out on a big first contract. He won a Super Bowl and played in another. No doubt his contract has hurt the Seahawks. The deal is to win a Super Bowl during the franchise QB's rookie contract. It's the only time you can load up the team with top talent and retain your superstars. The Eagles did it indirectly when they won under Wentz's rookie contract thought Foles completed the task. The Chiefs did it under Mahomes first contract and surprisingly thinking along the lines of Tom Brady he signed a team friendly extension. The NFL salary cap is good but the salary structure is bad. You can't tie every dollar in the QB and if you are wrong your team is cooked for years to come.

The wife thing is funny for people to say but obviously overrated. Brady had a lot of success early in his career and obviously realized if he left a little on the table to help him win more that he would make that $ back in droves in other areas. His first deal in the '05 offseason was considered team friendly. Look at all the businesses/branding he is involved in now.

You can't shill crap like NFT's without quite the resume.

He was not one of the top paid QB's during either SB winning season

I think my argument becomes a whole lot clearer, then again maybe I should just say my argument "should" become a whole lot clearer, when you look at the other side of what's being discussed

Who have been the highest paid QB's

Flacco, only AFTER he won a SB. Team was dismantled after that
Garoppolo, remember Brady's successor?
Cousins
Goff
Rivers
David Carr
Derek Carr
Prescott
Stafford
Wilson, only AFTER he won a SB
Rodgers, only AFTER he won a SB
Luck
Stafford
Ryan
Palmer
Eli, only AFTER he won a SB
Ben, only AFTER he won a SB
Cutler
Brees, only AFTER he won a SB
Bradford
Vick
Cassell

I'm going to stop there

It should be obvious the QB can't do it himself
it should be obvious you need linemen too

It should be obvious why everybody else makes Belichick look brilliant

And it's also obvious Belichick and McDaniels know how to make average QB's multi millionaires playing for somebody else
