UConn -8, speed and athleticism gets to be displayed. The Huskies excel at uptempo games

Duke -9, See UConn above. Duke very good at beating teams they should beat. Too many horses for ASU.

USF -8. Bulls already battle tested, and this surging program will continue to pay dividends. Nice early season squad still flying under the radar.

Obv you are a UConn fan so help me out here. When I look at the game, Uconn has been beating far inferior opponents at home by 10, and this is an obvious step up in competition. LSU is not a doormat, they return a decent amt from a team that won a game in the tournament , while UConn lost 5 of their top 7 scorers from last year if im not mistaken. I guess i just don't know if Uconn can win this one by DD. Thoughts on why if you dont mind?

Kind of agree with you here, don't sleep on LSU. Yes they are very young, but I think they've got some athletes too. We aren't talking about some mid-major team where U Conn's athletes will just overmatch them, this is LSU. I'm not sure who will cover, but am certainly not convinced U Conn just runs them out of the building.

i agree with you willie. lsu was very lucky to beat indiana st at home, and the same with wku. they struggle to score the ball, and rely to heavily on their athleticism, something they will be short of going up against uconn. so without being more athletic they have nothing. i like uconn here

Historically, UConn is very weak at covering large spreads against lesser competition, especially early in the season.

Calhoun is riding them, makes 1001 lineup changes, gets in their faces, disrupts the flow of the game and takes the air out of the ball. That's his MO, that's what he does, it works come Feb and I wouldn't trade him for anybody.

But when playing better competition, he'll let the kids play more. You're going to see a different coaching style and a different team in MSG than you did against the weak sisters coming to Storrs.

Furthermore, and most importantly, the Huskies love uptempo games. LSU wants to be athletic, and I don't think that they can compete with Kemba, Sticks and Dyson in that type of game.

Plodders give them more trouble than thoroughbreds.

Uconn running them out of the gym.

USF got off to a great 24-4 run to start the game, and are in cruise control now up 62-36.

i was able to get a little on uconn -6.5 right before game time when it got steamed down. not exactly sure how LSU got steamed, thought the writing was on the wall for this one? either way nice work. i hope i didn't miss out on all the usf value, i was only able to cash on them 3 times. i think they are going to start to get the recognition they deserve. i know i have them pretty elevated in my Big East pre-season ranking, but may have to move them up even higher
