Something to think about....

1) Where are all of the Hollywood celebrities holding telethons asking for help in restoring Iowa and helping the folks affected by the floods?

2) Where is all the media asking the tough questions about why the federal government hasn't solved the problem or where the FEMA trucks (andtrailers) are?

3) Why isn't the Federal Government relocating Iowa people to free hotels in Chicago?

4) When will Spike Lee say that the Federal Government blew up the levees that failed in Des Moines?

5) Where are Sean Penn and the Dixie Chicks?

6) Where are all the looters stealing high-end tennis shoes and big screen tv's?

7) When will we hear Governor Chet Culver say that he wants to rebuild a "vanilla" Iowa, because that's the way God wants it?

8) Where is the hysterical 24/7 media coverage complete with reports of cannibalism?

9) Where are the people declaring that George Bush hates white, rural people?

10) How come in 2 weeks, you will never hear about the Iowa flooding ever again?

Maybe the real answer is because there are some people in this world who know how to take care of themselves (especially in times of tragedy) without blaming others or expecting the Government's help!

I think the "10 question" part scares people away, sounds big.

Keep it simple next time.

its not a real flood like the one in new orleans. plus they had years to katrina proof themselves and the national relief agencies have all been down there. i know because i see ads daily here in mn about help from fema and how to come down.

katrina was the 3rd most powerful hurricane ever. what happened in iowa was a minor regional flood from rivers that were high.

I didn't know there was such a thing as a fake flood.

its a fake flood if somebody is trying to compare it to katrina. it's nothing compared to katrina. like i said, katrina was the 3rd most powerful hurricane that hit land in the US, EVER. these people had it easy compared to new orleans.

I'm sure the people affected in Iowa and throughout the midwest by these floods, would strongly disagree with you.

Officials guess it will be four days before the Cedar River drops enough for workers to even begin pumping out water that has submerged more than 400 blocks, threatened the city's drinking supply and forced the evacuation of a downtown hospital.
"We're estimating at least a couple of weeks before the flood levels get down right around flood stage and below," said Dustin Hinrichs of the Linn County emergency operations center.
The Cedar River crested Friday night at nearly 32 feet, 12 feet higher than the old record set in 1929.

Floodwaters have submerged parts of Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Authorities have been forced to close a nearly 300-mile stretch of the upper Mississippi River to all traffic.
