1-0 on Friday when Princeton/Brown stayed under the total. Saturdays have been rough on me, but I still plan on playing a lot of games today because there are many good plays on the board.

Here's three overnights:

621 Georgetown +8 at Boston College 2 units
-- I think Boston College may be the real deal. Nice short article on them in Sports Illustrated this week about how they are the underachievers that nobody wanted. Funny that UNC turned down Craigh Smith because he was “too chubby” in high school. LOL. He may beat them in March. All that said, G-Town has played consistent, tight games all year. This game sets up perfect for them. BC doesn’t blow you off the floor. They play good team basketball that wins games at the end. This game should be close and fall inside the number.

644 Wisconsin Green-Bay +5 vs. Wisconsin Milwaukee 1 unit
-- Big revenge spot. GB is the surprising second place team in the Horizon. I really think they are about 1-2 years away from possibly winning this conference, but I like the line and the spot here. Milwaukee housed GB at Milwaukee earlier this month, and the Panthers haven’t lost since Detroit upset them on Jan. 3. But I think GB evens the season series here and at worst loses a close game.

593 Indiana +8 at Iowa 1 unit
-- The Hoosiers are playing much better as of late after that horrendous start. Meanwhile, Iowa has slowed down and has to be reeling a little after being upset by Northwestern. While Iowa should win this game, laying 8 is too much.

I can't believe Brown beat Princeton. That has to be one of the biggest upsets this year in hoops, and one of the biggest in Ivy history. Seriously. Wow. I didn't even realize who won the game. I just checked my account and saw I had won. Later, I checked tonight's scores and saw the result. Unreal.

Both of these games were close to two unit plays, but I am keeping them at singles. My strongest play of the day will come from the Ivy League tomorrow. Waiting for a line move.

533 South Carolina +9 at Florida 1 unit
-- Only team to get a real margin on USC was LSU, and I don’t expect that to happen here. Florida had two nice road wins against Vandy and Auburn, and then they turn around and let a shaky Tenn. team beat them on their home court. Not expecting an upset here, but I am expecting USC to play its normal tight, scrappy basketball. Florida is an enigma. But throw out the Vandy road win and the home court victory over Georgia and what do we have here?

550 St. John's -1 vs. Seton Hall (game is at Madison Square Garden) 1 unit
-- The Red Storm (they'll always be the Redmen with Chris Mullin and Louie C. to an old Big East fan like myself) have to be thinking win here. The game is at MSG, Seton Hall is disappointing and the key losses of personnel from last year are showing. This St. John's team has surprised the heck out of everybody in the Big East, and I think it is mainly coach driven. This is one game I think they show up big for.

Be back in the morning.

This is my strongest play of the day. Just two units tough. CRIS just moved to 6.5, so I grabbed +7 +104 at Pinny. Wanted to wait to see if it moved higher but 7 is a good number.

545 Harvard +7 at Cornell 2 units
-- Cornell gets a hot hand against Columbia and now all the sudden they are world beaters laying decent sized chalk? Not really. Harvard has played a tougher schedule, has improved tremendously in the last month and has won 4 out of its last 5 at Cornell. Cornell’s team is mostly reliant on the outside shot, and they have one large margin this year (Columbia). Only other large margin came against Army (10 points). Crimson may win this SU. One note: Crimson have not played in about 2.5 weeks because of exams. But they are 5-4 under their current head coach in the first game coming off exam week.

A few more coming. A lot of small home dogs.

Leaving my compound for a few minutes, so here are the noon games I like. On another note, everyone be careful with their money -- seriously. A lot of locks and big plays and other crap being posted today. I'm not saying those who are posting don't have good thoughts or plays, but stick to the money management system that works for you on these plays if you play them. There is always the possibility (and a good one) that any play can lose, including mine.

524 Rutgers +3 vs. Villanova 1 unit
-- Everyone who has read my write-ups knows how much I like Rutgers as home pups in the RAC. Nova has been a great story this year in the Big East, but I think they'll be played hard for the full 40 by Rutgers today and it wouldn't surprise me to have this game come down to a last second shot. (Hopefully it's a two-pointer).

526 Northwestern +1.5 vs. Ohio St. 2 units
-- Not sure why Ohio St. is laying the chalk here. NW has played everyone tough at home except for Illinois. They can be forgiven for that. Ohio St. is lackluster on the road, though I like this team.

adding an Ivy total

yes, I like the Ivy League as well. it's been good to me the last few years, though I tend not to play too many out of conference games because I find it hard to compare Ivy teams with others.

543/544 Dartmouth/Columbia OVER 128 2 units
--This play is based more on Dartmouth's style. They tend to play higher scoring games than the rest of this conference. Game is lined nine, and I lean Columbia, but that may be a few too many here. I expect Columbia to crack the mid-70s here with Dartmouth coming in with a mid-60s total. Game should fall within 135-140.

Still waiting on some line moves. I like LSU, but think the line will move up, so I'll post it closer to tip. That should be it for today.

Not a good start to the day, again. Home court seems to mean nothing when I play on a team, and everything when I bet against a home team.

566 LSU +2 vs. Miss St.
-- As I said earlier, I like LSU. Very good home court record. Probably should be a small favorite here.
