2 unit plays: 12-8
1 unit plays: 65-45-4

I took last night off but went 3-0 on Wednesday, with a 2-unit winner on W. Michigan. Tomorrow's card, I believe, is our largest to date. Plenty of opportunities and both CRIS and Pinny have posted overnight lines. Here's two to get started.

542 Cincy -2.5 vs. Louisville 2 units
-- The only team to touch Cincy so far is Illinois. These two teams tend to win games on their home courts against each other.

584 Vandy -5 vs. Florida 2 units
-- Vandy has one of the most dominate home courts in the country. Florida hasn't played well against any of the better teams on their schedule, though they did have a nice road win at Auburn (except for the Prov. game when the Friars got caught in one of the worst scheduling spots in recent memory). This one should play our similar to Vandy-Alabama game.

I'm sure to back with more.

Apollo,

I was waiting for the UF-Vandy line to come out. I was hoping that Vandy was a smaller favorite, but still very much like them at -5. They win this game for sure. Like both picks. Good luck!

I was hoping for smaller line too, but I'd lay up to 6 with Vandy.

There are a number of good spots on tomorrow's card to bet against some of the better teams. Lot's of really big road chalk. I find it funny that sometimes certain conferences appeared to lined correctly, like tomorrow's Big East games, while others seem to have better spots.

566 Columbia -5 vs. Cornell 2 units
-- Columbia has one "bad" loss and that came to Hofstra. This team is making a full, 180-degree turnaround from prior editions. They begin to get some respect in the Ivy League against Cornell tomorrow.

I like a bunch of underdogs, but will wait to see if they move up in the morning.

552 Georgia +15 vs. Kentucky 1 unit
-- I am not exactly sold on this play, but Georgia has managed to win or keep games close in their own house. I make plays like this sometimes based on the "Fezzik Pointspread Tax" theory, where good teams just keep getting points added to their number. Kentucky can't shoot either, but if they turn up their pressure defense today this one may go in the toliet quickly.

600 Northwestern +14 vs. Illiniois 2 units
-- This is truly stepping in front of a steaming train. But look back over Northwestern's recent history at home. They've only lost by this number twice in the last two years, and even then the games were close. I said in a post upstairs this week that Illinois is my number one. I believe that. But that means they are also laying a lot more chalk than they are probably worth. Purdue showed that teams in conference can compete with them and Illinois will letdown eventually. Also, this Northwestern team is the best they've had in a number of years. The key, as always with lines like this, is tempo. NW is good at slowing the game down, especially on their homecourt. They must do this here or Illinois will run behind Brown all day. I think this is a good spot.

772 Wofford -2 vs. Tenn-Chat. 1 unit
-- Sure Tenn-Chat. is like 10-3, but they haven't played a schedule that remotely resembles Wofford's. Tenn-Chat. also got a hot start in league play thanks to three wins against teams in the bottom of the conference. Wofford played that tough schedule to get ready to compete in league and today's a good measuring stick.

I like at least four more games (dogs), but I think we are going to get some line moves so I am going to wait.

559 Temple +8 at Maryland 1 unit
-- This is an interesting spot for Maryland. Two straight losses to the conference high chiefs and now they get the team that is very scrappy year-in, year out. I like Temple here getting decent points against a Maryland team that may be a little down on themselves after losses to UNC and Wake.

Two other games remain, but the lines keep moving in my favor so I will post them later. For those who are interested, they are A&M (vs. T-Tech) and Ohio St. (vs. LSU). I like both for a unit, but for different reasons.

My final additions.

621 Texas A&M +9 at Texas Tech 1 unit
-- Not the best spot for A&M because of the danger of them coming out flat after beating Texas. But this is still too many points for T-Tech to be laying.

653 Ohio St. +3 at LSU 1 unit
-- I think OSU is a much better team than LSU, who has cooled off some after their hot start this year. Keeping this to one unit because it's hard to gauge how each team will play in an out-of-conference game during January.

Not my best day so far. Georgia never had a shot. Cincy and Temple could hold on to leads (and then Temple couldn't hang on at all). Those could have easily went my way but didn't. And Vandy isn't look all that good either. But those are the breaks.

Kidslick,

Columbia is one team I'd keep an eye during the Ivy League this year. They've been the conference doormat for so long, but got a new coach who is really doing good things with the program. They'll compete this year and may break out next year.

I was a little worried at half time, but things went well in the second half. Glad you cashed.

Tide Rider,

Thanks for the kind words. Yesterday the close ones didn't go my way (Cincy, Temple, Ohio St.) and I had a few duds in there as well (Wofford -- what they heck happened to this team? -- and Vandy). Actually, with Vandy losing, we may actually get a better spots with them in the next few weeks because they had been just blowing everyone out at home and the line was going to over correct at some point.
