Bet365: Sportsbook Industry Leader

Bet365 recently entered the U.S. market and is currently licensed to operate retail sportsbooks and online betting sites in New Jersey and Colorado. They have a partnership with the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City. They recently launched in Colorado through a deal with Century Casinos.

What types of bets can I place at Bet365?

Bet365 has one of the world’s biggest betting markets. With odds available on just about every league in the world for every sport, there isn’t a bet that you can’t make at Bet365. We will cover the most popular bets they offer in detail.

Futures Bets

Bettors can get action on events that will take place at a much later date when betting on futures. Futures bets can be on a single game happening weeks or months down the line or an end-of-season tournament like the NBA or NFL playoffs. For more traditional tournaments, you can find bets on March Madness, the U.S. Open in tennis or the Masters in golf.

For futures bets that involve a single game like the Super Bowl, you won’t know the participants of the event before you make the wager. That is part of the reason futures bets pay so much. These wagers are risky because of the lack of information when making the bet.

One of the most popular future bets in any major sports league is League MVP. Similar to betting on the Super Bowl, you don’t know who will be in the MVP race until the regular season unfolds. This is why almost all of the bets in a futures market have plus odds. Futures involving team sports have especially big markets because odds can be made on the teams themselves as well as several individuals from each team.

Although the payouts aren’t as high, one of the most popular futures markets is on regular season wins in team sports. Oddsmakers set a predetermined amount of wins for each team and give you odds on the over or under for said total. Since these bets are less risky, they offer lower payouts but a better chance to win. With so many options, it’s no wonder futures bets continue to gain in popularity.

Here are some examples of the types of bets you can expect to find in the futures sports betting market (of course, Bet365 offers them all):

  • End-of-season awards
  • Several statistical categories per sport
  • Season/Tournament champions
  • Conference winners
  • Division winners
  • Regular season win totals
  • Odds to make the postseason
  • First coach to be fired

Parlay bets give players a chance to win big while spending less than you would have to when making a straight bet. Even though the odds of hitting a parlay are low, that won’t stop sports bettors from dreaming big. In fact, parlays are the second most popular type of bet, accounting for 25% of sports betting in regulated markets. A parlay is where you take two or more straight bets and combine them into one wager.

The more teams in your parlay, the bigger the payout. Another way of getting a big payout in your parlay is to include underdogs. On the flip side, if you want to give yourself a better chance of winning, you would pick a lot of favorites on the moneyline. You can put moneylines, spreads and totals on a parlay or a combination of all three. You can also include multiple sports in the same parlay as well.

If you add another leg to your parlay, the payout gets much bigger. A three-team parlay with all of the odds at -110 pays +600. It’s important to note that these favorable odds come from the fact that the win probability on a parlay is low. Even a standard two-team parlay has a win probability of just under 28%. On the three-team parlay, the win probability drops to just over 14% which is why it pays so much.

A popular way to get two heavy favorites at better odds is to parlay them. A lot of sharp bettors will parlay two big money lines like -200 to get a better payout. The win probability on a -200 straight bet is just under 67%.

That is why a $100 straight bet on a moneyline of -200 only pays $50. However, if you did a two-team parlay with two moneylines of -200, that parlay would pay +125 which is a much better payout. Parlays will always remain popular with the betting public because every player dreams of a big payday.

Prop Bets

Prop bets give players a chance to make a bet on a specific event that may happen during a contest. These events can be independent of the outcome of the game itself. For example, a prop bet on who scores the first touchdown has nothing to do with who wins the game.

An example of a prop that does involve the final outcome of the game would be something like “Team X to win by between 5 to 9 points.” Even in this example, the prop gives you a range of outcomes meaning a combination of final scores could result in a win making it different from a straight bet.

Over the years, oddsmakers have become very creative when it comes to the types of prop bets you can make, especially when it comes to big events. The Super Bowl is one of the most watched events in the world and as such, you can be on everything from what songs will be performed at the halftime show, how long the national anthem will be, who will win the coin toss and so much more.

That’s the beauty of prop bets, they allow oddsmakers to turn almost anything into a wager which the gambling public lives for. You’ll find amazing prop bets available at Bet365 on a daily basis across a wide range of markets. Bet365 has one of the world’s biggest prop markets.

These are examples of the types of player and team props you can find at Bet365:

  • Total Points
  • Total Rebounds
  • Total Assists
  • Team to score first
  • What type of score will happen first (touchdown or field goal)
  • Will the final score be an even or odd number
  • Will player X score more than player Y?
  • Will there be more than X amount of touchdowns scored by both teams

Round Robins

A round-robin is a single bet that takes your picks and makes the most combination of parlays possible. Unlike a straight-up parlay, you can lose an individual selection in a round-robin and still win. A lot of people like to think of a round-robin as a parlay with insurance. However round robins are more expensive because you are risking money on all of the parlays. For example, a three-team round-robin can be turned into three parlays of two teams each.

That means if you are making a three-team round-robin for $100, the total cost will be $300 since there are three parlays. In the below example, we will stick to a three-team round-robin for the sake of simplicity. A round-robin can be anywhere from 3-10 teams which can get quite complicated. For example, with a five-team round-robin, you could potentially make up to 25 different parlay combinations.

An example of a three-leg round-robin would be the following:

  • Raiders -3.5 (-110)
  • 49ers -5.5 (-110)
  • Packers -1 (-110)

Instead of placing these three teams in one parlay, a round-robin will take all three and make as many two-team parlays as possible:

Parlay 1:

  • Raiders-3.5 (-110)
  • 49ers-5.5 (-110)

Parlay 2:

  • Raiders -3.5 (-110)
  • Packers -1 (-110)

Parlay 3:

  • 49ers -5.5 (-110)
  • Packers-1 (-110)

In the above scenario, if the Raiders lose, you would still make a profit even though two of the three parlays would lose. Parlay 1 & 2 would lose since the Raiders are in both. That would cost you $100 each for a total loss of $200. Parlay three would be a winner that pays +260, which means you win $260 for the $100 you bet.

In total, you would have profited $260 from parlay 3 while losing $200 on parlay 1 & 2. That gives you a net profit of $60 even though you only went one for three with your parlays. This is the appeal of a round-robin. Moneylines and totals can also be included in round robins.

Straight Bets

Moneyline bets have three possible outcomes; win, lose or tie (push). Moneyline bets involve picking a team or individual to win.

If you bet a favorite on the moneyline, you will risk more than you win.

If you bet an underdog on the moneyline, you will win more than you risk.

Odds for a favorite start with a minus sign.

Odds for an underdog start with a plus sign.

Moneyline bets where both teams are even will have odds of +100.

This means that the amount you risk is the same as the amount you win. This line is referred to as Even Money or Pick’Em.

Point Spread

Point spread betting is more popular than moneyline betting for high-scoring sports. This is due to the high price for favorites on the moneyline in football and basketball specifically.

A spread is a handicap between two teams with the favorite “laying” points and the underdog “taking” points. This handicap is represented by a predetermined number set by oddsmakers.

An example of a spread in the NBA would be Knicks vs. Nets where the Knicks are -2.5. This would make the line for the Nets +2.5 which means they are the underdogs while the Knicks are the favorites.

As with moneyline betting, the odds for the favorite start with a minus sign while the underdog’s odds start with a plus sign.

The standard price on a spread bet, which in the industry is known as juice, is -110.

Even though -110 is the industry standard price for a spread, there are some sportsbooks that offer reduced juice meaning you pay -105 on your bets. In other cases, the juice may be higher due to several factors.

If you pick the favorite (Knicks), they need to win by more than 2.5, meaning the Knicks need to win by 3 points or more to win the bet.

If you pick the underdog (Nets), if they win, you win your bet. However, if they lose, you can still win your bet as long they lose by less than 2.5. Meaning if the Nets lose by 2 or less, you win your bet.

If you get a spread that does not have a half point attached (i.e. -2 instead of -2.5 for the Knicks), this would be the only time a spread bet can end in a tie also known in the industry as a push. If the Knicks won the bet in the above example by exactly 2 (which means the Nets lost by 2), both bets would be considered a push and you would get your money back.

Total (Over/Under)

A total wager is a bet on the total number of combined points scored by both teams. You can bet that the points will go over or under the predetermined total by oddsmakers.

Just like spreads, totals usually include a half-point to avoid a push.

An example of a total bet would be Packers vs. Bears, Total 54 points.

  • If you take the over, then the combined score between both teams needs to be 55 or more.
  • If you take the under, then the combined score between both teams needs to be 53 or less.
  • If the combined score is 54, this would be considered a push and you would get your money back.

Teasers are parlays that give you points in your favor against the spread. They start at 6 points in football and 4 points in basketball. You can apply these points to either the favorite or the underdogs spread. Teasers can be applied to totals as well. Teasers payout less than parlays because you are getting odds in your favor. Teasers generally can be from 6-10 points and are broken up by the number of points given.

Below is a two-team parlay that will be turned into a two-team six-point teaser:

Original odds:

  • Eagles -2.5
  • Texans +7.5

Pays +260

Two-Team Six-point teaser:

  • Eagles +3.5
  • Texans +13.5

Pays -110

The point of a teaser is that you get better odds so you subtract the number from the favorites and you add it to the underdog in order to get the new odds. In the case of the Eagles, the six points were enough to take them from favorites to underdogs according to the number. As for the Texans, the teaser gives them a double-digit cushion.

Bet365 Live Betting

This is an area where Bet365 separates itself from the competition. As one of the first online sportsbooks to make live betting available, it has been at the forefront of both ever since.

There could be an argument made that Bet365 has the biggest live betting market in the world. They certainly have significantly more live betting options than any other competitor in the U.S. market and it isn’t close.

Not only can you bet on all of the top leagues from around the world in every sport, but you also find betting options within those markets that you can not get elsewhere. During the course of the season, on any given weekend you will literally find hundreds of live betting options to choose from.

We must warn anyone new to the concept of live betting to take the time to study the markets.

Live betting odds are updated very frequently as the action is unfolding. Depending on the sport, you will have very little time to make a decision.

Before investing money on a live bet, study the market to see how the lines are adjusted in terms of frequency and volatility.

You should also beware of the differences in line movement between different sports. With little time to make a decision, you don’t want to make a mistake because you were unprepared.

Bet365 Rewards & Betting Promos

Bet365 Sportsbook Sign-Up Bonus

Bet365’s bonus model is different from other gambling sites as is the case with a lot of their offerings. As such a big brand, they don’t need to rely on fancy promos loaded with terms and conditions on the back end to attract players.

Their signup bonus is a straight-up, no-nonsense deal that they call “$200 bet and get.” To be eligible for the bonus, you must deposit at least $10 into your account and then make a bet of $1 or more on a line greater than -500. Once you’ve met these easy terms you’ll be given $200 in bonus credits. While $200 is not as high as some competitors, the terms of this bonus are much more favorable. The financial commitment to be eligible for Bet365’s bonus is so little that there is virtually no risk on the player’s end. You only need to roll the $200 over once, and you can break it down into smaller bets.

Bet365 really shines with its ongoing promotions. There are a host of deals like parlay boosts on North American sports leagues where players can get up to a 70% odds boost on winning parlays. All you have to do is make a parlay that involves a specific list of leagues like the NBA, NFL and UFC for example. If the bet wins, depending on the number of picks in your parlay, you can get a boost of up to 70%. The profit boost bonus is paid in cash and added to your balance rather than awarded in bet credits.

Another amazing promotion can be found in the NBA. Bet365 has an offer where if the team you bet on goes down by more than 20 points during the game at any point, they will pay out the bet in full regardless if the team you bet on comes back. In some instances, they’ll even do the opposite where if the team you picked goes ahead by 20 points, the pick will be graded as the winner.

Unique promotions like these will always have customers interested in trying their luck. They also keep customers coming back for more because they will be naturally curious to see what Bet365 can come up with next.

Please note that not all bonuses are available in all states. Each state has unique rules and regulations when it comes to bonuses so it is best to log in from your home state to see available offers.
