Las Vegas-based software giant Scientific Games has signed a deal to distribute slots from award-winning developer Wazdan in key markets across the United States.

Wazdan is a Malta-based studio that has released more than 140 popular video slots since it was founded in 2010. Its casino games are available in 17 countries, including established markets such as the UK, Malta, Sweden, Denmark, Lithuania, Spain, Italy, and Greece.

Its games include Sizzling 777 Deluxe, Power of Gods: the Pantheon, Black Horse Deluxe, and Relic Hunters and the Book of Faith, as well as new Hold the Jackpot titles, such as Sun of Fortune and Burning Stars 3.

Scientific Games and Wazdan will team up to offer players in New Jersey and West Virginia these games in the first quarter of 2022. Wazdan’s focus on the American market will intensify in the coming months, as the company studio is currently in the process of finalizing supplier licenses in Michigan and Pennsylvania.

Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia are the four states that have competitive, legal online casino gaming industries. There are also a couple of operators permitted in Connecticut, while Delaware has an industry controlled by a lottery-appointed exclusive operator.

A Fantastic Portfolio of Slots

Scientific Games is a supplier to some of the largest online casino brands in the United States, including FanDuel.

They access popular slots via its OpenGaming platform, which will now include some of the leading titles from Wazdan.

Steve Mayes, partnership director at SG Digital, said: “This exclusive aggregation partnership further strengthens the wide range of games we can offer players in key regulated states across the U.S. through our OpenGaming platform, which incorporates responsible gaming tools.

“Everyone within the industry knows how talented the team at Wazdan are and what they bring to the table. We thoroughly believe players across the U.S. will enjoy their fantastic portfolio of slots just as much as everyone else across the world does. Finally, I’d like to thank Bekki D’Agata at Wazdan for her assistance in getting this major deal over the line.”

Michal Imiolek, chief operating officer at Wazdan NJ LLC, said: “Scientific Games is a company that needs no introduction, being one of the leading players in the industry. We’re delighted to partner with them in this exclusive agreement.

“Our progress in the United States has been our greatest success this year. We can’t wait to work closely with Scientific Games going forward and expand our footprint in the U.S., providing players with immersive experiences.”

An Increased Focus on Online Casino Gaming

Scientific Games also provides the engine for lots of U.S. sportsbooks, including FanDuel and BetMGM.

The engine is called OpenBet, and it has been available since 1996. Last year, Scientific Games agreed to sell OpenBet to Endeavor Group Holdings – the company that owns UFC – for $1.2 billion.

The deal includes $1 billion in cash and $200 million in Class A stock in Endeavor, which also owns IMG Arena, a division that works with around 500 brands around the world to deliver official live streaming video and data feeds for more than 45,000 sports events annually.

The sale is expected to close in the second quarter of 2022, which will leave Scientific Games focused more heavily on online casino gaming.

Its games are available in New Jersey, Michigan, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut. The latest is Ultra Blazing Fire Link India, a 96% RTP slot. It will soon release 10,000 Wonders 10K Ways, while 100XRA, Hurricane Horse Coin Combo, and Spirit of the River are among the new slots slated for February. It will then significantly bolster its portfolio by adding the Wazdan games.
