Updated 2015 Super Bowl Odds and Matchup Props

The smoke left on the field of this weekend’s Wild-Card Round of the NFL Playoffs has barely cleared, but online sportsbooks already have an eye towards this weekend’s Divisional Round with a complete set of updated NFL futures odds for Super Bowl XLIX.

Odds to Win Super Bowl XLIX

The Seattle Seahawks have spent much of the season at the top of this list. Given that they come into Saturday’s Divisional-Round matchup against Carolina riding a six-game winning streak both straight up and against the spread, it’s easy to see why their betting odds to repeat as NFL Champions are the best on the current board at 2/1. The big test should come in the NFC title game in light of the Seahawks being favored by 11 points at home against the Panthers in this round.

The New England Patriots also finished the NFL regular season on strong note with impressive victories against both Denver and Indianapolis (SU and ATS) in the month of November. They went 12-4 SU on the year, and even more important, as the No. 1 seed in the AFC, was their 7-1 SU record at home. This is why books have the Patriots listed as 10/3 second-favorites to win Super Bowl XLIX. The first step will be to get past Baltimore this Saturday afternoon as seven-point home favorites.

The third-favorite on the list is the Green Bay Packers at 11/2 betting odds. They will face Dallas at home this Sunday as 6.5-point favorites. Assuming they go on to win this game, a trip to Seattle in the conference championship will undoubtedly be the Packers biggest hurdle to a trip to Arizona for Super Bowl XLIX. These two NFC foes opened the season against one another at CenturyLink Field, with the Seahawks rolling to a 36-16 victory over Green Bay as 4.5-point home favorites.

The Denver Broncos have the fourth-best betting odds to win the Super Bowl this time around at 6/1 after getting crushed by Seattle 43-8 as two-point favorites in last season’s Super Bowl. These two also met in this regular season this year, with the Broncos coming up on the wrong end of a 26-20 loss as four-point road underdogs. Denver will first have to beat Peyton Manning’s old team, Indianapolis this Sunday afternoon as a seven-point home favorite to set up a likely rematch with New England in the AFC title game.

The betting odds to win the Super Bowl for the four other teams in this weekend’s NFL Divisional Round of the playoffs starts with Dallas at 7/1. The Cowboys did not look all that convincing in a sloppy four-point win over Detroit in this past Sunday’s Wild-Card Game, which could spell the end of the ride this Sunday at Lambeau.

Both the Colts and the Ravens’ betting odds to win it all stand at 18/1, and the long shot in the group is Carolina at 25/1.

Matchup Odds for Super Bowl XLIX

It stands to reason the current betting odds for a matchup between Seattle and New England in Super Bowl XLIX would be at the top of the list at 9/4. However, given just how hard it is for both No. 1 seeds to advance to the big game, there is always some value to be found further down the list.

Both Green Bay and Baltimore have been able to make fairly recent runs to a Super Bowl title as a Wild-Card team, so why not take a shot on the longer 28/1 odds that these two teams meet in Super Bowl XLIX.

The Cowboys were still one of the hottest teams heading into the playoffs, and, despite a less-than-stellar effort against the Lions, it may be worth a small bet that they make it all the way to the Super Bowl in a matchup against New England at 9/1 or against Denver at 12/1.

Regardless of which of these eight teams eventually battles their way into this year’s Super Bowl, the early betting line on the game has the NFC favored by one point.
