UFC in Vegas 27 Main Event Prediction

Rob Font vs. Cody Garbrandt

UFC Bantamweight Bout

at Apex Centre

Former UFC bantamweight champion Cody “No Love” Garbrandt will be looking for his first two-fight win streak in over five years this weekend, but in front of him stands one of the hottest prospects in the division – Rob Font. Number one contender implications haven’t been announced, but we should assume the winner of this contest will face off against the title fight between Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno.

Cody Garbrandt has already tasted and delivered what it takes to become a UFC champion but aged just 29; it could be argued the Ohio native is yet to reach the prime of his career. A knockout of the year contender finish against Raphael Assuncao proved that “No Love” is back in action. As the fastest striker in the division, we could very well witness another brutal finish this weekend.

Rob Font could be the fighter who puts a spanner in Cody’s works; the talented striker has avoided defeat since 2018 and is currently riding a three-fight win streak which includes a decisive win against the current Bellator bantamweight champion Sergio Pettis.

Across a five-minute – five-round contest, I do not expect either man to rush. We should see mutual respect for the power behind both their hands, leading me to believe this fight will not end too quick.

UFC in Vegas 27 Co-Main Event Prediction

Yan Xiaonan vs. Carla Esparza

UFC Women’s Strawweight Bout

Saturday, May 22, 2021 – 11:05 PM EDT at Apex Centre

Carla Esparza has already established her dominance in the women’s strawweight division, but she remains underrated by fans and critics alike. A dominant wrestling offence made her the first-ever strawweight champion, and one more win will surely gift her another shot at gold.

Yan Xiaonan was the first-ever female Chinese athlete signed by the UFC; she has remained undefeated and has an opportunity this weekend to put herself in title contention. Her entire life has been focused on martial arts, initially competing in Chinese Sandra. The most notable aspect for Xiaonan heading into this weekend’s fight with Esparza would be her solid takedown defence, which will be imperative in success.

Given Xiaonan’s performance against Claudia Gadelha, I have confidence that she can avoid a fight where Esparza will dominate her grappling skillset. However, I do anticipate a takedown or two for Esparza because she is that damn good in this particular area. But Xiaonan prevented the talented Gadelha from taking the judges opinion by refusing to be countlessly taken down. Across Xiaonan’s professional career, nobody has come close to defeating her, including the UFC journey she has been on thus far.

The available odds are very enticing, and should Xiaonan be victorious this weekend; we may never witness near close to even odds on the Chinese prodigy again.

UFC Best Bet: Yan Xiaonan @ -111 with Bet365 [1.11u returns 1u profit]
