Calvin Kattar vs. Giga Chikadze

Calvin Kattar has built a solid foundation amongst the UFC featherweights since joining the promotion in 2017. A 6-3 record for the company has been assisted with four stoppages inside the distance for Kattar. While this isn’t an abnormal set of data, the numbers become significantly more impressive when you realize the level of competition he’s faced thus far.
Having reached a top-10 level of competition since his second contract with the UFC, Kattar has delivered an elite level of striking offense inside the octagon to wow the crowds and equally build his resume.
As the statistics suggest, high output and striking accuracy are nothing new. A fight-ending amount of power is perfectly accompanied by a boxing skillset he’s become renowned for.
Giga Chikadze
Professional MMA Record: 14-2-0
Knockout Record: 11-2
Submission Record: 0-1
SIG Strikes Landed Per Minute: 3.76
SIG Strike Accuracy: 47.01%

Giga Chikadze has taken the 145lb division by storm. The Georgian native has wasted no time in rising through the rankings, holding on to an undefeated UFC record with elite kickboxing on display.
Consecutive stoppage victories over Cub Swanson and Edson Barboza have positioned Chikadze amongst the highest level of featherweight competition the UFC offers. He now boasts a 7-0 promotional record, putting himself in a position to compete for the championship should he overcome the talents of Kattar on Saturday evening.
Kattar vs. Chikadze Fight Analysis and Betting Pick
Two high-level strikers will go to war, and I don’t anticipate we’ll see much grappling if any at all. Kattar has refined boxing fundamentals, but the likes of Max Holloway have solved this equation. Once you remove Kattar from his boxing range and keep him at a distance, or alternatively lay the pressure on, his game plan falters.
Chikadze will have no issues in keeping this fight at range, using a diverse set of strikes to outwit and outsmart his challenger.
Many sportsbooks opened Chikadze as a -150 favorite, but this price has rapidly declined since the initial opener up to -230. Based on gambling ethics, this makes placing a wager on Chikadze a tad complex. For this reason and because both fighters possess extreme durability, the over 2½ rounds is the most tempting wager to make.
UFC Vegas 46 Betting Pick: Over 2½ rounds (-175) at DraftKings
Joanderson Brito vs. Bill Algeo
UFC Featherweight Bout
Saturday, January 15, 2022 – 10:05 PM EST at UFC Apex
Joanderson Brito
Professional MMA Record: 12-2-1
Knockout Record: 5-1
Submission Record: 5-1
SIG Strikes Landed Per Minute: 4.31
SIG Strike Accuracy: 63.44%
Takedown Average: 4.41
Takedown Accuracy: 75.00%
Submission Average: 0.00
Representing the Chute Box Academy out of Brazil, Joanderson Brito will make his official UFC debut following an impressive Dana White Contender Series win in 2021. I believe the young, hungry, powerful, and diverse attributes should give the Brazilian a confident start to his UFC tenure.
Brito doesn’t own the lengthiest professional MMA record, but the 26-year-old has fought stiff competition on the regional scene, making him prime for UFC competition.
Bill Algeo
Professional MMA Record: 14-6-0
Knockout Record: 3-0
Submission Record: 6-2
SIG Strikes Landed Per Minute: 6.37
SIG Strike Accuracy: 60.42%
Takedown Average: 0.50
Takedown Accuracy: 28.57%
Submission Average: 0.00
Having fought as a professional MMA competitor since 2012, Bill Algeo finally reached the big leagues in 2020. However, his arrival to the UFC hasn’t been the fairy tale beginning he might have imagined.
Aged 32-years-old, it’s now or never for Algeo, who lost two of his first three UFC bouts. With that said, experience is undoubtedly on his side this weekend when he takes on the newcomer in Brito.
Brito vs. Algeo Fight Analysis and UFC Vegas 46 Betting Pick
The available UFC in Vegas 46 are relatively conservative, and I believe the sportsbooks are giving Brito such a reasonable price tag due to the unknowns.
Most oddsmakers aren’t going to notice how skilled the Brazilian newcomer is; his grappling skills are second to none, and he’s also presented knockout power on countless occasions.
I genuinely believe Brito can take his skillset into the top-15 of the UFC’s featherweight division, and this fair set of odds may disappear once he walks through Algeo this weekend.
UFC Pick: Joanderson Brito to Win ML (-135) at BetMGM
