UFC in Vegas 40 Main Event Prediction
Norma Dumont vs. Aspen Ladd
UFC Women’s Strawweight Bout
Saturday, October 16, 2021 – 09:05 PM EDT at Apex Centre
This weekend’s main event of the evening will see the number #7 ranked featherweight Norma Dumont and her opponent, the #5 ranked bantamweight Aspen Ladd compete for a more excellent UFC ranking.
Norma Dumont (6-1-0) fell victim to the size and knockout power of Megan Anderson during her promotional debut; however, this professional career hiccup doesn’t represent the fierce striking skills she possesses.
Born in Brazil, aged 31, Dumont’s small professional record doesn’t give a clear vision of the martial arts experience she owns. A six-time Sandu state and national champion are the origins of her MMA success, and she’s collected a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu along the way.
Aspen Ladd (9-1-0) is one of the most promising young athletes inside the UFC women’s divisions, but an injury and a two-year layoff make it challenging to gauge where her current skillset is.
A well-varied set of skills and a fight-ending ability puts Aspen Ladd in a category where she’s a problem for any foe faced across the octagon from herself.
Dumont vs Ladd Fight Analysis
The main event of UFC in Vegas 40 is undoubtedly an intriguing one. Technically, it isn’t a striker versus grappler matchup, but the favoured offensive approaches from both Dumont and Ladd will present this format. Ladd prefers to ground her opponents, utilize her strength to find a ground and pound position where she excels the most. In comparison, Dumont finds the majority of success falling back on her Chinese kickboxing experience.
Watching Aspen Ladd look like a zombie on the scales for her bantamweight contest with Macy Chiasson just two weeks ago is a huge red flag. She’s now stepping up in weight class to face a larger opponent who might not give her the same opportunities as her previous bantamweight contenders have.
With that said, I believe both girls own a strong enough skill set to outperform one another, and I guess it’s a simple question of who’s going to turn up on the night. And with that in mind, I prefer leaning to this contest exceeding fifteen minutes, making the over 3 and ½ rounds a proposition play I’m interested in.

UFC in Vegas 40 Co-Main Event Prediction
Andrei Arlovski vs. Carlos Felipe
UFC Heavyweight Bout
Saturday, October 16, 2021 – 11:05 PM EDT at Apex Centre
Andrei Arlovski (13-4-0) is a true anomaly of the sport. Aged 41-years-old, the former UFC heavyweight champion has competed as a professional martial artist for twenty-two years. He owns the highest takedown defense in UFC heavyweight history, the most victories in UFC heavyweight history and a level experience that cannot be matched into today’s MMA climate.
Arlovski has toned down his aggressive style of the past to match his age. Which is the reason why he’s now known as the gatekeeper of the UFC heavyweight division. Arlovski’s losses inside the UFC across the previous five years have been against elite competition; most competitors outside of the top ten rankings have fell victim to “The Pitbull”.
Carlos Felipe (11-1-0) is no slouch, but some say the Brazilian is fortunate to have been successful during his previous two split decision victories.
Felipe owns an impressive set of fundamental boxing skills, and despite his rocky split decision contests, I do believe he can outperform his peers who’ve recently squared up against Arlovski. A
body shot hunter with the power to finish most, don’t count out the up and comer with a point to prove.
Arlovski vs Felipe Fight Analysis
I smell another tight split decision result on the horizon, and if anybody can prevent Felipe from sneaking out another close win, it’ll be the point fighting expert Andrei Arlovski. Arlovski has successfully won eleven decisions during his professional career; the experience he carries knows what it takes out-wit that of his opponent.
Arlovski’s opening price of -160 has taken a severe rise when evaluating the current available odds and line movement. He’s now the betting underdog at particular sportsbooks while others have the contest priced evenly.
In a fight where I anticipate yet another close split decision, this coin toss situation makes it simple to create a betting prediction – follow the value. And with Arlovski gaining sixty or more points since his opening price, he’s the obvious betting choice for this weekend’s co-main event.
