No. 1 LSU (9-0 SU, 7-2 ATS) is a huge 42-point home favorite versus Western Kentucky (5-4 SU, 7-2 ATS). According to the Sports Options odds service, 60 percent of public betting action is on the Hilltoppers, who are third in the Sun Belt conference.

The total in this matchup is 48.5, which is only about a touchdown more than points the Tigers are giving the Hilltoppers. Action on the total is pretty much evenly split.

Stuck in middle

Potential middling opportunity for the sharps on the total in Denver at KC game on Sunday.

The line opened at 42.5 at numerous online sportsbooks listed is Sports Options odds service. The number has since dropped to 41, opening up a middle at 42.

Denver is 6-2 on the OVER/UNDER this season. If it stands, 41 will match the Broncos’ lowest posted total on the season. The Chiefs, meanwhile, are 3-5 on the O/U.

KC is averaging 16.4 ppg this season; the Broncos are averaging 21.4 ppg.

UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez (9-0-0) is a -173 favorite to beat challenger Junior Dos Santos (13-1-0) in a fight that will be broadcast on FOX at 6 p.m. PT from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

Velasquez, who stands 6-foot-1 and weight 240 pounds, is a native of Yuma, Arizona and went to Arizona State. In his last fight, he knocked out former pro wrestler Brock Lesnar in the first round.

Dos Santos, a former coach on The Ultimate Fighter reality show, stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 238 pounds. In his last fight, the Brazilian native beat American Shane Carwin in a three-round decision.

Velasquez opened as a -160. The line has shifted as high as -180 at some online sportsbooks, which has pretty much kept the action evenly split.
