Manchester City FC vs. Fulham FC
Saturday, November 5, 2022 – 10:00 AM EDT at Etihad Stadium
First Position Within Guardiola’s Grasp
As league leaders Arsenal face Chelsea in a challenging London derby this weekend, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola will be rubbing his hands at the opportunity to remove the Gunners from the first position in the EPL standings.
The Citizens are two points behind Arsenal, and with a win this weekend, Mikel Arteta’s squad would be required to take all three points from the Blues to maintain their place at the standings’ summit.
Manchester City’s likelihood of success against Fulham is high, entering this Saturday’s meeting with a streak of 14 undefeated games when playing at the Etihad Stadium. Following a midweek Champions League clash that held no weight on the already-qualified City team, Guardiola could rest his stars as the youngsters of his squad shined and defeated Sevilla.
Can Fulham Maintain Form?
Last weekend saw the end of Fulham’s two-game win streak come to an abrupt end. Marco Silva couldn’t guide the Cottagers past the stern defense of Everton as their meeting ended in a bore draw at Goodison Park.
However, as a newly promoted side that lifted the Championship league trophy last term, Fulham hasn’t become a cliché newly-promoted side and is surprisingly sitting in seventh of the EPL table.
Nevertheless, traveling to the Etihad Stadium is a daunting task for any squad of any level, and their previous eight meetings with Manchester City have ended in defeat.
Pick and Prediction
The available EPL odds, to no surprise, have given Manchester City an incredibly juiced moneyline. And although we expect the Citizens to shower the Fulham net with goals, wagering on a Man City isn’t profitable.
From Manchester City’s 14-game consecutive win streak on home soil, they’ve managed to score at least three goals in all but one of those meetings. We expect another high-scoring encounter this weekend, and the Over 3.5 goals at -126 is the bet to make.
Score Prediction: Man City 3 – Fulham 1
Soccer Pick: Over 3.5 Goals (-126) [126$ stake returns $100 profit] at FanDuel
Nottingham Forest FC vs. Brentford FC
Saturday, November 5, 2022 – 10:00 AM EDT at City Ground
Forest Continues a Relegation Battle
Despite sitting rock-bottom of the English Premier League standings, Nottingham Forest is three points away from pulling themselves out of the dreaded drop zone. With a recent and historical win over Liverpool that was also assisted with a clean sheet, positivity loomed around the locker room of the Tricky Trees. That was until they entered the Emirates and were dismantled by a 5-0 scoreline.
Although defenses were penetrated against the Gunners, recent weeks have undoubtedly displayed some notable efforts from the Forest back line. During the month of October, Aston Villa, Wolves, Liverpool, and Brighton could only find a combined two goals, and Aston Villa have been the only team to score at the City Ground since Matchday 10.
Top Seven or Relegation?
As four points separate Brentford from the top seven and the relegation zone, the winter EPL schedule could be crucial for Thomas Frank’s men when establishing which half of the table they will battle in this term.
The Bees head to Forest on Saturday looking to break a three-game winless streak, but without their talisman Ivan Toney, this could prove difficult.
Brentford has failed to produce any notable road victories this term, and given Forest’s strong home record in recent weeks, the suspension of Toney could prove more critical than we perceive.
Pick and Prediction
The best sportsbooks have split their expectations in this game as both teams present plus-money offerings. Brentford is the slight favorite, but without Toney, they’ll struggle to find an alternative goalscorer.
Per the previously-mentioned factors, the Under 2.5 goals market seems a viable approach for this fixture. And it wouldn’t be surprising to see Forest sneak another 1-0 success as they did against the Reds.
Score Prediction: N Forest 1 – Brentford 0
Soccer Pick: Under 2.5 Goals (-120) [125$ stake returns $110 profit] at BetMGM
