Leicester City FC vs. Manchester City FC

Saturday, October 29, 2022 – 07:30 AM EDT King Power Stadium

A Newfound Level of Form in Leicester

Whatever Brendan Rodgers threatened his players with at the beginning of October, keep it up, sir, as Leicester City has finally maintained a healthy stretch of positive form for the first time this season.

Last time out, the Foxes demolished their Midlands rivals Wolverhampton with a 4-0 final score, and this result arrived on the back of a successful outing versus Leeds United.

Nevertheless, entering a fixture with one of Europe’s most prolific goal-scoring teams behind 2 successes against less-than-average teams isn’t going to make us forget that Leicester City has only just surfaced from the EPL relegation zone.

Three consecutive clean sheets or not, the Foxes haven’t had to deal with the likes of Erling Haaland and Phil Foden, so it’ll be interesting to see how they handle the divisions best in their current form.

Pep Guardiola Aiming to Shoot Past the Gunners

A midweek Champions League stalemate against Borussia Dortmund isn’t what the doctor ordered. Still, with the top spot of the Premier League in sight, Pep Guardiola can push his squad to the top of the rankings should they walk away from the King Power with a result.

That said, Manchester City’s October form is at the opposite end of the scale to Leicester, as the Citizens have produced just 1 win from their last 4 games, and these aren’t the performances that we’d previously become accustomed to.

In addition, City has failed to score in 3 straight-away games and the current fitness levels of Haaland are also in question.

Pick and Prediction

The available Premier League odds have placed the visitors as the betting favorites, no surprise there, but the recent form of Leicester isn’t represented with a +850 price tag for a home victory.

Manchester City is the dominant squad, and there’s no denying this. However, there’s more excellent value to be found in expecting both teams to find the net on Saturday.

Score Prediction: Leicester 1 – Manchester City 2

Brighton & Hove Albion FC vs. Chelsea FC

Saturday, October 29, 2022 – 10:00 AM EDT at AMEX Stadium

Brighton Struggle Under Roberto de Zerbi

Since arriving at the Brighton hot seat last month, newly appointed head coach Roberto De Zerbi has yet to win a game in the five Premier League fixtures he’s managed.

To give credit where credits are due, away trips to Anfield and Etihad were always going to a handful of the most difficult matchdays of the season. They took a point from Liverpool while proving a tough nut to crack against Manchester City last weekend.

De Zerbi’s current style of play emulates what he achieved at Sassuolo. Still, until he understands that the Italian approach won’t match the EPL physicality, he’ll struggle to find a positive result.

Familiar Surroundings for Graham Potter

Graham Potter returns to the AMEX for the first time since he departed Brighton for the managerial job at Chelsea, and if anybody knows the players he’ll face on Saturday, it’d be him.

Potter gave Brighton the best possible start to 2022/23, and as a result, they’re still positioned in the tabletop half, but he’s now sat in the opposing dugout as the Blues attempt to win back fourth place from Newcastle United.

Under the tutelage of Potter, Chelsea is unbeaten in 9 games. The Blues recently qualified for the Champions League Round of 16 after topping their group with one game to spare. Overall, it’s been challenging to question Potter’s most important job of his career.

Pick and Prediction

The available EPL odds have placed Chelsea as slight favorites, but both squads have been labeled with plus-money offerings on the moneyline.

We expect a tight encounter between Potter and his former club. Although he’ll possess the advantage of knowing the players he’s up against, both teams have suffered from a lack of goal-scoring opportunities in recent weeks.

Outside of the 5-2 success over Leicester, the remaining 4 games at the AMEX this term have produced 2 goals in total. Considering everything above and the glaring trends, under 2.5 goals at -125 seems like a steal.

Score Prediction: Brighton 0 – Chelsea 1
