Super crunchy Premier League weekend, as the Manchester derby could take away all the credit that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has earned back in last week. Meanwhile, Antonio Conte is back at work and the first league test will be at Goodison Park. Lastly, we get super odds on a balanced faceoff between Leeds and Leicester.

Manchester United vs. Manchester City

Saturday, November 6, 2021 – 07:30 AM EST at Old Trafford

In only seven days Solskjaer seemed to have regained the favor of the crowd. But it is all a bit weird, as beating the Spurs was, actually, an easier task than expected, considering how they axed Nuno Espirito Santo right afterward. Meanwhile, at Atalanta, Cristiano Ronaldo saved the team following a much better performance from Atalanta.

The dust hasn’t been cleaned, it’s just under the carpet, but United could have gone through a fatal crossroad as they let Spurs hire Conte. Now there isn’t really a safe option to hire immediately in case things start to fall apart again (unless this time Cristiano is able to convince Zidane to take the job, having more luck than he had a couple of weeks ago when he rung the Frenchman…).

Looking at the table the situation isn’t desperate at all: not only are they still leading in the Champions, but in the Premier they are 5th, three points short of City. The problem is that Liverpool and Chelsea resumed their high pace run, and if Man U loses here they will fall eleven points from the Blues. Honestly too far to be recovered.

The worst thing for United is that City stumbled during their defeat against Crystal Palace in their last Premier League game and showed they are ready to get back on track after what we saw in the Champions League mid-week.

Before that, they didn’t lose in the EPL going back to August and seeing that one bad day is enough to see the leader going five points ahead will help Guardiola shape their focus even more. In fact, odds on City are not even that high considering they play away and, all in all, United is still there next in the table.

Everton vs. Tottenham

Sunday, November 7, 2021 – 09:00 AM EST at Goodison Park

Conte is experienced and Tottenham fans are about to start a rollercoaster of emotions that, I have no doubt, will bring them, at least, their first trophy since 1991 (I refuse to consider Carabao Cup a trophy).

Everton right now is in between what they wanted to be and what they really are, but they will prove to be a very difficult start for Conte.

Still, there is a positive atmosphere as Spurs fans think that he will help bridge the gap with what Spurs at the moment can’t achieve.

The odds to win are absolutely fantastic and not sure how they will be so up for an away Conte game.

Leeds vs. Leicester

Sunday, November 7, 2021 – 09:00 AM EST at Elland Road

Leeds are slowly climbing their way up the table, now three over relegation after losing only once in their last four.

Leicester is always solid, but struggling to cope with the European midweek fixtures and, all in all, going down just against big rivals.

The sparkle for Bielsa is still missing, so he will find it hard to stretch Leicester and find spaces between the lines. A very balanced game so the draw is well awarded by the odds.
