Underdogs are absolutely destroying the NFL lines this season. Heading into Week 8, those loveable pups are 60-45-3 ATS, cashing in at a healthy 57.1% clip. But you can make even more money putting these dogs in your moneyline NFL picks. Look at what Carolina (+425), Chicago (+275), Seattle (+150) and Washington (+150) did last week, for example.
Sadly for us, we didn’t have any of those teams on our Week 7 Upset Alert. The Cleveland Browns almost got there as +240 road dogs, but they lost 23-20 to the Baltimore Ravens. And despite adding RB Christian McCaffrey last Thursday and flipping from underdog to favorite, the San Francisco 49ers fell 44-23 to Kansas City. Drat.
No matter. There was one other winning underdog on the Week 7 NFL odds board, and we’re going to ride with them again in Week 8.
New York Giants vs. Seattle Seahawks
Sunday, October 30, 2022 – 04:25 PM EDT at Lumen Field
The 6-1 Giants have already pulled off the improbable five times this year, paying out for our Upset picks on multiple occasions, even if they weren’t on our shortlist for Week 7, we certainly hope you were on Big Blue when they beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 23-17 as +130 road dogs.
At 4-3, the Seahawks have been full of surprises themselves, with all four of their victories coming as the underdog side. But the betting public is starting to catch on.
Sunday will be just the second game this year where Seattle are laying points, with Geno Smith already proving to the world that the ‘Hawks weren’t so crazy after all when they traded QB Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos.
This is a tough assignment for the G-Men on paper, but head coach Brian Daboll has found a way to get the most out of his patchwork roster – and the Seahawks have several injured players on both sides of the ball, including wideout DK Metcalf (knee), who looks increasingly unlikely to play after skipping Thursday’s practice.

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Cleveland Browns
Monday, October 31, 2022 – 08:15 PM EDT at FirstEnergy Stadium
The 2-5 Browns were the sharp football pick last week in Baltimore. They even beat the spread as 6.5-point road dogs, but Cleveland couldn’t quite get over the hump. Oh well. Can’t win ‘em all.
The Browns retain their betting value for Monday night’s AFC North matchup with 4-3 Cincinnati. And the Bengals got some bad news Thursday when top WR Ja’Marr Chase (strained hip flexor) was ruled out for this contest.
Chase is expected to go on injured reserve, and won’t be back for at least four weeks if he does. Bet accordingly.
