Market-leading live casino supplier Evolution Gaming has launched its popular Lightning Roulette game in New Jersey.

It has all the bets you find on a standard roulette game, along with between one and five randomly generated “lucky numbers” offering payouts of between 50x and 500x. It, therefore, blends the thrill of live dealer play with high payout Random Number Generator play, with lightning bolt visuals and sound effects designed to ramp up the tension.

Lightning Roulette has won several awards for its innovative gameplay, but it has mainly been confined to European online casinos in the past.

Can Lightning Roulette Take the USA by Storm?

One year ago, Evolution Gaming launched Auto Roulette, another popular live dealer roulette game, in New Jersey. It felt that the time was right to bolster its portfolio in the Garden State.

“We are delighted to launch Lightning Roulette in New Jersey and to be able to offer the game to our operators and their players in the state,” said Jeff Millar, commercial director for North America at Evolution Gaming. “Following Lightning Roulette’s phenomenal commercial success and immense popularity across our network, we are sure operators and players alike in New Jersey will love the game.

“Lightning Roulette is a homegrown Evolution brand and has truly revolutionized roulette. The technology behind the game is incredibly advanced, as is the studio setting itself.”

“Subject to the necessary regulatory approvals in other states, our aim is to install a Lightning Roulette table in each US state where there is an Evolution live casino studio. It’s our belief that the game, quite literally, has the potential to take the US online gaming market by storm.”

BetMGM, FanDuel, DraftKings, Caesars Sportsbook, and BetRivers are among Evolution’s online casino customers in the United States. It has studios in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Michigan.

How Does Lightning Roulette Work?

You will be able to play this game with a professional live dealer in a dedicated online gaming studio.

It is based on European roulette. That is great news for players because European roulette has a higher RTP than American roulette. It only has a single zero pocket, whereas American roulette has a single zero pocket and a double zero pocket, resulting in a significantly larger house edge.

You can bet on individual numbers, splits, streets, corners, lines, columns, dozens, and side bets like red/black, odd/even, and high/low.

The dealer spins the wheel like normal. When the ball has nestled into a particular pocket, the dealer pulls a lever and all the panels on the wheel are struck by lightning. It randomly chooses between one and five lucky numbers in this process, and straight-up bets on winning numbers can be increased by between 50x and 500x.

This is a great addition to the mix, as the live dealer casinos in the USA currently lag their European counterparts in terms of game variety.

The bet limits are broad, so you can try out roulette strategies on the game.

Negative progression strategies include the Martingale System, the Fibonacci System, the D’Alembert System, and the Labouchere System might.

You can alternatively go for positive progression strategies such as the Reverse Martingale, the 1-3-2-6 Betting System, the Paroli System, and the Oscar’s Grind.

However, these systems are designed to be used on side bets, so you will not benefit from the multiplier feature if you follow them. You should therefore consider placing individual number bets too in a bid to trigger the multiplier.
