Free Picks from Doc’s Sports: College Football and NFL

Free Saturday College Football pick from Doc’s Sports:
Take Northwestern Wildcats -3 over Boston College Eagles (Saturday, 3:30pm ET, Big Ten Network)

The Wildcats are coming off an impressive victory last week against Vanderbilt in Evanston and we fully expect them to follow that up with a strong showing this week against a weaker Boston College squad. Boston College has not been a player on the national scene in quite some time and things to not appear to be turning around in 2012. Northwestern won this game by 7 points last year in Chestnut Hill and I fully expect a similar performance in this meeting. Boston College is 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games played during the month of September. Northwestern has covered 5 of their last 7 non-conference games. Play the home team and lay the small wood! Do not miss Doc’s Sports weekend football card featuring action from Thursday through Monday. Doc’s Sports has a strong Top Plays on both Saturday & Sunday and they went a perfect 2-0 with these games last week. Both of these plays were underdogs that won straight-up!

Free Sunday NFL pick from Doc’s Sports handicapper Indian Cowboy (60-26 comp run):
Take Tennessee Titans +6 over the San Diego Chargers (Sunday, 4:25pm ET, CBS)

Can the Titans have looked any worse last week? And, the Chargers looked fairly good last week on Monday Night Football. So, we are doing the classic fade as everyone will jump on the Chargers coming off the MNF win and everyone will jump off the Titans as they will this week and is evidenced by 68% of the public on the Chargers at home. I do think the Titans will have more than 4 yards of rushing from Chris Johnson and in the same token, remember the Chargers were fortunate 3 times for decent field position due to the long snapping situation of Oakland. I don’t think they will have that same gift in field position this time around either. With this being a classic fade, with the Titans needing to bounce-back and having the motivation to bounce-back and fading the MNF winner the next week for a let down, I like the Titans to do well here as I actually think have a decent shot at winning this game outright. The Titans were shell shocked by New England one of the best teams in the league and that will be great for them as they face the Chargers as that game made the Titans a better team in my opinion and it’s a positive aspect that they played the Patriots so early in the season.
