FanDuel is a sportsbook whose success and popularity in this country is well-established. This sportsbook is, perhaps, primarily known for its online availability. After all, it is online rather than retail sports betting that has constituted the main source of revenue for sportsbooks.

Online sports betting is, generally, more convenient than the in-person variety. People typically don’t want to have to leave their homes or wherever they are in order to place a bit. However, retail options can also be convenient.

This is certainly true in Washington D.C. It’s not like retail operators will come to your home. But the online options for sports bettors based in this area are sparse.

In order to get better odds and, in general, a stronger sports betting experience, D.C., sports bettors will want to go to a retail venue.

The Washington Nationals’ venue, Nationals Park, is host to BetMGM. As for Capital One Arena, which is where the Washington Wizards play, Caesars Sportsbook operates there.

FanDuel and Soccer

As for Audi Arena, home of D.C. United, the district’s MLS team, FanDuel is running the sports betting show. Thus, FanDuel has become the first retail sportsbook inside an MLS stadium.

Of course, since its merely an MLS stadium, FanDuel’s sportsbook location will not be as well-sized as, for example, Caesars. But the experience is still great. Guests at this location will be very close to the pitch. Don’t get hit by any stray soccer balls!

Bettors at FanDuel will have access to three windows and 18 kiosks. The hours are great — 10 a.m. to midnight — thus extending to times where no match is being played inside Audi Arena. Of course, you likely won’t be in danger of getting hit by a soccer ball when no match is being played.
