Super Bowl Sunday is known for going over the top, whether it’s a star-studded halftime show, a fans’ guacamole consumption at a watch party, or the price to land a spot for a company’s highly-produced commercial during the broadcast.

DraftKings has joined the fun, offering an over-the-top free million-dollar Super Bowl bet to five gamblers. Everyone on the site—new and existing members alike—is eligible to win as long as they are opt-in.

The company unveiled The DraftKings Free Million Dollar Super Bowl 56 Bet promotion.

Pool of Free Money

In total, DraftKings will be giving away $10 million in free bets for Super Bowl LVI, which will match the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams on February 13.

Half of that money—$5 million—will be available for bettors on the Super Bowl, although the company hasn’t specified who is eligible, how they’ll earn the free bets, or how many winners there will be.

The other half, however, is remarkably easy and generous. DraftKings will give away five free $1 million bets on Super Bowl Sunday.

Who Is Eligible and How to Win

Unlike many online gambling promotions, the free million-dollar bets aren’t an inducement for new bettors on the site. New and existing members are both eligible to win. The only thing a gambler has to do to be eligible is opt-in on the site.

“To participate, all you have to do is opt-in before 2:00 PM EST on February 13, Super Bowl LVI Sunday,” DraftKings explains on the site. “And if you win, you’ve gotta bet it all on Super Bowl LVI.”

The site will announce the five winners at 6:00 PM EST on Super Bowl Sunday. The game is scheduled to kick off at 6:30, so the winners will get a half-hour spending spree to wager the million dollars.

Fine Print

Since online gambling isn’t legal everywhere, the promotion is limited to states that allow it. Winners must be located in Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, or Wyoming.

There are also limits on what bets the winners may place.

“All $1 million free bets must be on a money line, spread or point total,” reads the site. “No alternate lines. Maximum odds of +300.”

Other DraftKings Fun

The million-dollar free bet is just the latest eye-catching Super Bowl promotion DraftKings has offered. Throughout the NFL’s postseason, the site has been offering LVI to 1 odds on the game, in honor of the Super Bowl’s number.

The free offer essentially adds a 56x multiplier for a $5 Super Bowl bet. New users who sign up for an account ahead of the Super Bowl and wager at least five dollars on the game get an additional $280 in free bets if they win.

While losing wagers don’t earn the free bet money, a winning bet will produce the standard payout based on DraftKings odds, plus a total of seven free $40 bets that must be used within the next seven days.

Further sweetening the pot, DraftKings Sportsbook adds a 20 percent bonus on any new user’s first deposit, providing even more free gambling money once someone opens a new account.

DraftKings currently has the Rams as a -200 money line favorite, while the Bengals are +170. The point spreads on the game are Rams -4.5, Bengals +4.5. The over/under point total is 48.5.

There are also plenty of prop bets offered, on everything from individual player yardage totals to combined yardage for pairs and trios of players, what will happen on the game’s first play from scrimmage, and even whether a team will execute a successful onside kick (+2500 odds on that taking place).
