At Caesars Sportsbook is offering a tempting odds boost of +350 on the Los Angeles Chargers to win their big game against the Raiders on Sunday night.
The Bolts will qualify for the playoffs if they get the better of Vegas at the Death Star in the final game of the season. However, the Raiders will head into the postseason instead if they prevail, so it should be a nail-biting occasion for both sets of fans.
The Chargers are the 3.5-point favorites with Caesars Sportsbook to win the game, priced at -110. Lots of analysts believe the Chargers will narrowly cover that spread, while some feel they could fall just short.
Caesars is offering +350 on the Chargers to win the game by 1-6 points, which looks like a tempting option. It would fail it the Chargers were to lose the game or to secure a blowout win, but it looks like it could be a tight clash, and Los Angeles should have the edge.
Can the Chargers Win by 1-6 Points?
The Bolts beat Vegas 28-14 when these teams clashed at the SoFi Stadium in Week 4. Derek Carr threw two touchdown passes, but the Chargers dominated the game and secured a comfortable victory.
They now have an identical record – 9-7 straight-up – but Los Angeles holds the advantage thanks to its victory over Vegas in Week 4, leaving it as the No. 7 seed as things currently stand.
The Chargers were 8-5 straight-up for the season at one point, but back-to-back defeats to the Chiefs and the Texans left them in trouble. They bounced back with a 34-13 win against the Broncos in Week 17, which saw them eliminate the Broncos, the Browns, and the Dolphins from playoff contention in one fell swoop.
The Raiders have won three games in a row, dispatching the Browns, the Broncos, and the Colts to drag themselves back into playoff contention. Carr should get one of his key weapons back for this game, with Darren Waller set to return to action.
He will be keen to get the better of Chargers DE Joey Bosa, who was talking a fair amount of trash about the Raiders’ QB after that win in Week 4.
Both teams have struggled defensively this season, but Los Angeles has the better offense and a stronger roster all-round. It deserves its status as the 3.5-point favorite, and it should just about cover that spread.
There is a danger that the Bolts could win by an even greater margin than 6 points, but you could always hedge against that by placing a small bet on an alternate line (Chargers -5.5 is +130), so this does look like a tempting odds boost from Caesars. The maximum you can bet at the boosted odds is $100.
