Bayern Munich vs. Stuttgart

Saturday, September 10 – 10:00 AM EDT at Allianz Arena

Team News and Game Facts

• Stuttgart is still looking for their first victory of the 2022/23 season.

• The German champions have drawn back-to-back league fixtures. Expect a change on Saturday.

• Expect Thomas Muller to return to Munich’s starting XI after he was rested last weekend.

Looking For Three

After drawing their previous two Bundesliga appearances, German champions Bayern Munich have surrendered the No.1 and No.2 league positioning.

They must secure all three points to avoid falling out of the title chase early on.

The good news, a midweek breeze past Inter Milan in the Champions League, broke their drawing streak, and now Julian Nagelsmann can focus his team on defending their domestic title.

Looking For Anything

Two drawn games are horrific for Nagelsmann standards, but his weekend opponents are yet to have a single victory on the board this term.

Stuttgart has avoided defeat despite falling to 10 men in two consecutive games.

However, an evident lack of discipline runs through Pellegrino Matarazzo’s team as successive red cards in back-to-back games shouldn’t have come to fruition.

Suppose Die Roten allows games versus Bayern from recent history to resurface. In that case, it could be a long night because when the Bundesliga champions need points, they often embarrass the other team, and Stuggart has fallen victim to this before.

Bayern Munich vs. Stuttgart: Our Best Bet

The available Bundesliga odds are all in favor of Bayern Munich, but -700 isn’t doing much for our long-term investment.

For this reason and because I expect a determined home side, I’m siding with the German giants to win both halves of play, and the plus-money value is simply delightful.

Score Prediction: B Munich 3 – Stuttgart 0

Freiburg vs. Borussia Monchengladbach

Sunday, September 11 – 10:00 AM EDT at State Europa-Park

Team News and Match Facts

• Daniel Farke tasted his first defeat as Gladbach manager last time out.

• Freiburg is sitting on top of the Bundesliga table with 12 points from a possible 15.

A Surprising Outfit Topping The Bundesliga

Big things were expected from Christian Streich this term, but nobody could have predicted his squad to be topping the Bundesliga table five games into the season.

Last week’s ultra-impressive showing versus Bayer Leverkusen (3-2) moved Freiburg to the top of the table, and now they’ll be aiming to defend this position for as long as possible.

Freiburg finished sixth place last season and unfortunately lost the DFB-Pokal final, but they’re a club on the up. For the first time in five years, they’ve added European soccer to their schedule, and it was a triumphant return with a 2-1 Europa League win.

Balancing a championship-caliber schedule will require nerves and masterful tactics, something that Streich – a decade-long reigning coach – will know how to accomplish.

Mixed Results

When Borussia Monchengladbach held Bayern Munich to a draw at the Allianz Arena, a sense of hope echoed in the locker room.

But the confidence is instantly removed when your team returns from that result to losing 1-0 on home soil to Mainz 05.

Former Norwich City boss Daniel Farke will be pushing his players to forget the past and build on what’s in front of them, and with a week’s rest over their weekend opponents, now’s the perfect time to capitalize.

Freiburg vs. Borussia Monchengladbach: Our Best Bet

The available odds favor the home side, and I can’t help but agree. Despite having less rest than their opponents, momentum is a robust tool, and Freiburg is full of it.

The injury list doesn’t look great, for Gladbach and Freiburg have been prolific in the final third, particularly from set pieces.

I’ll take a straightforward home win with some even money for good measure.

Score Prediction: Freiburg 2 – Borussia M’bach 0

Soccer Pick: Freiburg ML (+100) [100$ stake returns 100$ profit] at Caesars
