Ryan Bader vs. Valentin Moldavsky

Bellator Heavyweight Championship Bout

Saturday, January 29, 2022 – 10:00 PM EST at Footprint Center

Ryan Bader

-Professional MMA Record: 28-7-0

-Height: 6’2″

-Reach: 74.0″

-Knockout Record: 12-5

-Submission Record: 5-2

-Last 5 Fights: 2-2-1

Former Bellator two-division champion and current heavyweight champion Ryan “Darth” Bader is finally putting his title on the line.

For the first time since capturing the gold over Fedor Emelianenko in 2019, the well-accomplished and experienced Bader returns to the weight class where he’s undefeated – the heavyweight division!

Aged 38-years-old, Bader has unquestionably surpassed his prime fighting years, but with a mere two losses on his professional MMA record within the previous six years, you wouldn’t suggest he’s finished with the game just yet.

Valentin Moldavsky

-Professional MMA Record: 11-1-0

-Height: 6’1″

-Reach: 75.0″

-Knockout Record: 1-0

-Submission Record: 3-0

-Last 5 Fights: 5-0

The elite level of combat sambo that Valentin Moldavsky has delivered in the Bellator MMA cage thus far speaks volumes towards a prosperous future he can secure moving forward.

The Ukrainian-born fighter training out of Russia captured the interim heavyweight championship in Bader’s absence and now has the opportunity to seek revenge on his coach Fedor, who subsequently lost to Bader for the same title three years ago.

Bader vs. Moldavsky Fight Analysis and Bellator 273 Prediction

In recent years, a questionable level of durability surrounding Bader’s chin has arisen as we’ve witnessed Corey Anderson and Vadim Nemkov starch the heavyweight champ in a lighter weight class.

I believe he could own a unique power advantage in this bout but also arrive with the contest weary of losing to a knockout punch; therefore, a grappling game plan would be forced.

In saying that, let’s not forget Bader’s base skill set is wrestling. A clash of styles is likely to play out where Moldavskys sambo meets Bader’s wrestling, which makes me believe that the over 2 ½ rounds is the ideal betting approach for Saturday’s Bellator 273main event.

Bellator 273 Pick: Over 2 ½ rounds (-165) at DraftKings

Aiden Lee vs. Henry Corrales

Bellator Featherweight Main Card Bout

Saturday, January 29, 2022 – 08:00 PM EST at Footprint Center

Henry Corrales

-Professional MMA Record: 19-6-0

-Height: 5’8″

-Reach: 70.0″

-Knockout Record: 7-0

-Submission Record: 6-3

-Last 5 Fights: 2-3

35-year-old Henry Corrales entered Bellator MMA in 2015 as a top prospect. Still, you can notice the deflation in his professional career when the American native continuously failed to deliver versus the promotion’s elite talent.

Corrales has recently taken a drop in competition level but still hasn’t managed to string a consecutive win streak since 2019. Concerns are looming the power puncher, as the company could be using his name to elevate the up-and-coming fighters.

Aiden Lee

-Professional MMA Record: 10-5-0

-Height: 6’0″

-Reach: 75.0″

-Knockout Record: 2-1

-Submission Record: 6-1

Last 5 Fights: 3-2

The youth of Bellator is in good hands if Aiden Lee can find success after being fed to the wolves upon his arrival to the promotion.

Aged just 26-years-old, Lee was matched with Saul Rogers and Aaron Pico within his first four fights, which I believe was an unfair welcoming. Lee has proven to be a tough outing despite losing the bouts mentioned above, and his growth within pro-MMA should be notified.

Corrales vs. Lee Fight Analysis and Bellator 273 Prediction

The power behind Corrales’ striking is the only concern I have for Lee, and since the top sportsbooks placed the Englishman as an underdog, the betting public has soon corrected that line with their faith in Lee.

I do expect Lee bettors to be on the right side; his length, kickboxing background, and dangerous jiu-jitsu should be enough to put the old-timer back into the losing column.

Bellator 273 Pick: Over 2 ½ rounds (-115) at BetMGM
