World Series props released

Station Casinos in Las Vegas has released a bevy of proposition bets for the upcoming World Series between the Texas Rangers and St. Louis Cardinals, which starts Wednesday night at Busch Stadium.

Texas outfielder Josh Hamilton and St. Louis first-sacker Albert Pujols are 5/1 co-favorites to hit the first home run of the series, which will be televised by the Fox Network beginning at 5 p.m. Pacific Time.

Nelson Cruz, who swatted six round-trippers for the Rangers against the Tigers in the ALCS, is 6/1, along with St. Louis’ David Freeze and Matt Holiday.

Ian Kinsler is 8/1 to belt the first homer, while Lance Berkman and Yadier Molina are 10/1. For those looking for a long shot, Texas’ Craig Gentry is 28/1. Those believing there will not be a home run hit in the series can also get 28/1.

Since the Rangers will bat first in Game 1, they are a $1.35 favorite to score the game’s first inning. The Cards are plus $1.05.

Those thinking there will not be a run scored in the first inning must lay $1.40 to win $1.00. Bettors who believe there will be a run in the opening frame can get plus $1.10.

Texas is a minus $1.20 favorite to hit the first homer in Game 1, while St. Louis is minus $1.10.

Sticking with the homer props, bettors must lay $1.40 to win $1.00 if they believe St. Louis’ Chris Carpenter will not allow a home run in Game 1. The ‘yes’ is plus $1.10. Texas southpaw C.J. Wilson is minus $1.30 not to allow a homer in the opener and even money to give up a long ball.
