NBA Playoffs Betting Preview: Hawks at Bulls

Hawks Bulls logosThe Chicago Bulls were expecting to close out the Atlanta Hawks in four or five games but their Eastern Conference semifinal series has not gone according plan. The series is now tied 2-2 with Game 5 set for Tuesday night in Chicago (8:05 p.m. ET, TNT).

The Bulls had the best record in NBA this season (62-20 SU, 50-31-1 ATS) and most people expected them to easily handle Atlanta. But that has not been the case and now this series will go at least six games.

Chicago had a chance pounce on Sunday with the game tied in the fourth quarter but the Hawks made all the big plays down the stretch to win 100-88 as 3.5-point home dogs.

Josh Smith had a huge game for the Hawks with 23 points, 16 rebounds and 8 assists. Derrick Rose had another 30+ point game but he took too many shots and made some mistakes late that cost Chicago.

The Bulls win with defense – they were the second best defensive team in the league this betting season allowing just 91.3 ppg. The Bulls won with defense in Games 2 and 3 but they didn’t play much in Game 4 allowing the Hawks to reach triple digits.
