NBA Playoffs Betting Preview: Bulls at Hawks

Bulls Hawks logosThe Chicago Bulls will try to eliminate the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday night in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference semifinals (8:05 p.m. ET, ESPN).

The Bulls won Game 5 on Tuesday and lead the series 3-2. Chicago is listed as a 3.5-point road favorite at SBGGlobal.com and the total is set at 179. On the moneyline, the Bulls are -165; the Hawks are +145.

Derrick Rose and Taj Gibson took over in the fourth quarter on Tuesday as the Bulls beat the Hawks 95-83 in Chicago as 8.5-point favorites.

Rose took the ball inside all night against the Hawks and in the fourth quarter he was unstoppable. Rose had 11 points and three assists in the fourth quarter as Chicago outscored Atlanta by 11 points in the final quarter to win by 12.

While Rose was the leading scorer with 33 points he was not the only Chicago player to contribute. Luol Deng had 23 points and Gibson scored all of his 11 points in the pivotal final frame.

The Hawks got another poor shooting out of Joe Johnson and Jamal Crawford. Those two have been wildly inconsistent in this series.

They were red-hot in Game 1 as the Hawks won in Chicago but they were awful in Game 5. Johnson had just 15 points while Crawford was completely invisible as he had just two points on 1-for-9 shooting.

Jeff Teague played well again for Atlanta but the Hawks need their prime-time players to show up if they are to beat the Bulls and in Game 5 they didn’t.
