Los Angeles Lakers logoThe Phoenix Suns, who are in a fierce battle for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference, face a big hurdle on Tuesday when they face the red-hot Los Angeles Lakers (10:35 p.m. ET, TNT).

The Suns (35-33 SU, 32-34-2 ATS) are two games behind Memphis for the last playoff spot and are coming off a 108-99 win against the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday as a 1-point dogs.

The Lakers (50-20 SU, 34-36 ATS), meanwhile, slipped past Portland 84-80 on Sunday as 6.5-point home favorites. It was their 12th win in the 13 games.

Los Angeles is listed as a 7-point favorite at SBGGlobal.com and the total is set at 200. On the moneyline, the Lakers are -300; the Suns are +250.

The Suns do get a little bit of a break on Tuesday since they will be facing a Los Angeles team that will not have center Andrew Bynum, who is serving the second game of his two game suspension for a mid-air body check on Minnesota Timberwolves F Michael Beasley.

That could mean another good game for Suns 6-foo-11 center Marcin Gortat, who had 18 points on Friday against Golden State another nice effort on Sunday against the Clippers scoring 17 points and grabbing 13 boards.

With Bynum out of the lineup due to suspension, the Lakers will go with Lamar Odom as the starter again on Tuesday. He had 16 points, 11 rebounds, six assists and two steals in the Lakers win against Portland on Sunday.

The Lakers almost let a win get away on Sunday but Odom made some nice plays, Kobe Bryant hit the big shots and Derek Fisher was clutch when it counted. The Lakers are now 12-1 since the All-Star break and a game in front of Dallas for the second seed in the Western Conference behind San Antonio.
