NBA Betting Preview: Spurs at Bulls

Two of the top teams in the NBA meet on Thursday night in Chicago as the Bulls host the San Antonio Spurs (8:05 p.m. ET, TNT).

The Spurs are playing the finale of their Rodeo road trip and this game might be the toughest one of the trip. The Spurs are 6-2 on the trip with the only losses coming at Portland and at Philadelphia.

San Antonio has the best road record (21-7 SU, 19-8-1 ATS) in the league but the Bulls have the second best home mark (24-4 SU, 18-9-1 ATS).

Chicago is listed as an 2-point home favorite at SBGGlobal.com and the total is set at 189.5. On the moneyline, the Bulls are -130; the Spurs are +110.

The Bulls have a superstar player in Derrick Rose but they also have a strong supporting cast. Nine players scored in Chicago’s 106-94 win over Charlotte as 9.5-point home favorites on Tuesday.

This Chicago’s last game before the All-Star break, and although some teams look ahead to the days off, the steadily improving Bulls will no doubt be motivated to see how they measure up to the top team in the NBA.

The Spurs beat the Bulls earlier in the season. In that 103-94 loss, the Bulls blew a 17-point second quarter lead and ended up losing by nine as 7-point road dogs. Chicago is a much different team now as Carlos Boozer is healthy and a number of players are contributing.

The Spurs played a big game against the Lakers in the second game of this road trip and pulled out a 1-point win. This game might actually be more difficult because it comes at the end of the trip against a Chicago team that is playing at a high level.

The Spurs are 5-1 ATS when they have been listed as an underdog this season.
