NBA Betting Preview: Magic at Celtics

Boston Celtics logoTwo of the top teams in the NBA renew their rivalry on Monday as the Boston Celtics host the Orlando Magic (8:05 p.m. ET, TNT).

This is the finale of a five-game road trip for the Magic (26-14 SU, 17-22-1 ATS), who are 2-2 on the trip. Orlando is coming off a win at Minnesota on Saturday night while Boston (30-9 SU, 19-19-1 ATS) is coming off a win at home against Charlotte on Friday.

Boston is listed as a 3-point favorite at SBGGlobal.com and the total is set at 192.5. On the moneyline, the Celtics are -155; the Magic are +135.

Orlando has become a much more balanced team in recent weeks. Dwight Howard (21.7 ppg, 13.3 rpg) is the still the focus point of the offense but with Jason Richardson, Gilbert Arenas and Hedo Turkoglu, the Magic have a lot of scoring options.

Not to be forgotten are Jameer Nelson and J.J. Redick. It was Redick who had 21 points off the bench in the win on Saturday.

The Celtics are hoping that Kevin Garnett (15 ppg, 9.5 rpg) returns to the lineup on Monday. He has missed the last eight games but all indications are that he will be back on Monday for this key contest against the Magic.

The Celtics have the top defense in the league (92 ppg) but they have definitely missed Garnett as Boston has given up more than 100 points three times in the last six games.

Normally when Orlando and Boston play it is a low-scoring game but the Magic are simply a much different team now than in the past with multiple scoring options.
