NBA Betting Preview: Heat at Knicks

New York Knicks logoLeBron James, Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat visit the Big Apple on Thursday night to take on Amar’e Stoudemire and the struggling New York Knicks (8:05 p.m. ET, TNT).

The Heat (31-13 SU, 20-23-1 ATS) have not played since Saturday night when they rolled the Toronto Raptors 120-103 as 10.5-point home favorites. The days off have helped Dwyane Wade who is expected to play on Thursday night after he missed the Toronto game due to a migraine.

However, Miami will still be without F-C Chris Bosh, who is nursing a left ankle sprain. Bosh has not played since January 15 and is expected to miss at least the next four games.

Even without Bosh, the Heat are still listed as 3.5-point road favorites at for tonight’s game. On the moneyline, the Heat are -175; the Knicks are +155. with a total of 210. The total is set at 210.

Miami welcomed the days off heading into back-to-back games with the Knicks tonight and the Pistons at home tomorrow night. The Heat get Saturday off then have back-to-back games at Oklahoma City on Sunday and at home against Cleveland on Monday.

With all of their injury issues, including LeBron James’ recent ankle injury which kept him out of two games, Miami is just 6-4 (4-6 ATS) in their past 10 games.

That is still far better than what New York has done recently. The Knicks (23-21 SU, 27-15-2 ATS) finally won at home on Monday against Washington to break a six-game losing streak.

New York has already lost twice this season to the Heat including an ugly blowout loss at home last month. The Knicks are 1-1 ATS in those games.
