NBA Betting Preview: Celtics at Jazz

The Boston Celtics wrap up their four-game road trip on Monday as they take on the Utah Jazz (9:05 p.m. ET, NBA TV).

Boston has not had much success at Utah through the years but it may be easier on Monday as the Jazz no longer have Deron Williams. The Jazz have just one win in their last seven NBA games and they have fallen out of the top eight in the Western Conference.

Boston is listed as a 4.5-point road favorite at SBGGlobal.com and the total is set at 191.5. On the moneyline, the Celtics are -200; the Jazz are +170.

The Celtics are coming off a win at the Clippers on Saturday night as Paul Pierce scored 24 points while Ray Allen added 22. Newcomers Jeff Green and Nenad Krstic started to find their way a little bit as Krstic had nine points and six rebounds while Green had seven points.

Boston has won two of the first three games on this road trip although they have just one win against the point spread in those three games.

The Jazz are coming off a loss at Detroit on Saturday night. Utah has been terrible since head coach Jerry Sloan stepped down, and now without Deron Williams they really look lost.

The Jazz have been very poor at home this season against the spread having gone 12-18. It is tough to make a case for taking the Jazz right now.

Here are some key NBA betting stats for Monday’s game:

The Celtics are 1-4 against the spread in their last five road games. The Celtics are 1-5 ATS in their last six vs. the Western Conference. The Celtics are 0-3-1 ATS in their last four Monday games.

The Jazz are 8-20 ATS in their last 28 games overall. The Jazz are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 vs. the Eastern Conference. The Jazz are 0-5 ATS in their last five home games. The Jazz are 0-4 ATS in their last four vs. the Atlantic.

The Jazz have gone under in 18 of their 30 home games this season while Boston has gone under in 15 of their 27 road games.

The under is 4-1 in the Celtics’ last five vs. the Northwest. The under is 6-1 in Utah’s last seven home games.

In this series, the over is 6-2 in the last eight meetings in Utah.
