NBA Betting Preview: 76ers at Heat

76ers Heat logosThe Philadelphia 76ers look to even their best-of-seven playoff series with the Miami Heat on Monday night in South Beach (7:05 p.m. ET, TNT).

The 76ers fell short in Game 1 on Saturday, losing 97-89 as 10.5-point road dogs. It was a game of streaks as the Heat trailed by 14 points in the second quarter but led by 13 in the fourth quarter. Philadelphia pulled within one point with just over a minute to go but the Heat held on for the win.

Miami is listed as a 9.5-point favorite at SBGGlobal.com and the total is set at 189. On the moneyline the Heat are -600; the Sixers are +450.

In what was no surprise, Miami’s big three scored most of the points for the Heat on Saturday as Chris Bosh had 25 points and 12 rebounds, LeBron James had 21 points and 14 rebounds while Dwyane Wade added 17 points.

Philadelphia, meanwhile, got 20 points and 11 rebounds from Thaddeus Young while Jrue Holliday added 19 and Elton Brand had 17 points.

Miami has now won all four games against Philadelphia this season (2-2 ATS). The Heat did it with rebounding and free throw shooting on Saturday. They out-rebounded the 76ers 52-39 and had a huge edge at the foul line, making 31 of 39 shots while Philly hit 12 of 15.

History is firmly on the side of Miami now in this series. Since the NBA went to a 7-game series in the first round in 2003, only once has a No. 2 seed lost after winning the opening game. Miami has won all five times when leading 1-0 in a series with Dwayne Wade on the team.
