College Basketball Preview: Colorado at Nebraska

Colorado Buffaloes logoColorado (14-4 SU, 3-0 conf.) looks to remain unbeaten in the Big 12 when they travel to Lincoln to tip off with Nebraska (13-4 SU, 1-2 conf.) on Tuesday night (7:00 p.m. ET, ESPN2).

The Buffaloes (8-4 ATS ) have been a major surprise so far this season and they are finally starting to get some national attention. Colorado came from 12 points down on Saturday in front of a sold out Coors Events Center to beat Oklahoma State 75-71 as 5.5-point home favorites.

Colorado has now won its last six conference games dating back to last season. The last time that the Buffs won seven straight conference games was back in 1962-1963.

Despite Colorado’s recent successes, oddsmakers favor the Cornhuskers on Tuesday – Nebraska (5-4 ATS) is listed as a 3.5-point favorite at SBG On the moneyline, the Cornhuskers are -165 and the Buffaloes are +145.

If the Buffs can win tonight and at Oklahoma on Saturday it would set up a compelling contest next Tuesday when Colorado hosts to No. 2 Kansas. Pulling off those wins will be no easy task for the Buffaloes, who will no longer be overlooked by conference foes.

This game on Tuesday is a matchup between Colorado’s high-powered offense that is No. 8 in the country (83.9 ppg) against Nebraska’s defense which is No. 3 in the nation (55.5 ppg).

The difference could be at the other end of the court where Nebraska has had all kinds of scoring troubles and is averaging a little more than 68.7 ppg (No. 188). That said, Colorado has not been a powerhouse on defense; the Buffs are allowing 71.2 ppg (No. 255).
