OAKLAND, California (Ticker) -- The Oakland Athletics try to continue their recent domination of the San Francisco Giants when the teams open a three-game Interleague series on Friday.
The Athletics have won six straight games against the Giants, including a three-game sweep earlier this month.
Oakland has outscored San Francisco 27-7 over that span while limited the Giants to just four runs during the last 48 innings.
Rookie Dana Eveland (5-5, 3.31 ERA) tries to give the A's their seventh consecutive win against their cross-Bay rivals when he takes the mound.
Eveland allowed just one run and six hits in 6 2/3 innings, walking three while striking out five to earn a 5-3 victory over the Giants on June 15.
The 24-year-old lefthander followed that start with another impressive outing on Saturday, yielding just two runs over 6 1/3 frames. However, he did not factor in the decision during a two-run loss to the Florida Marlins.
Kevin Correia (1-5, 5.20) counters for the Giants after being pounded in his first appearance against the Athletics when he opposed Eveland.
Correia, who allowed five runs and seven hits in 5 1/3 innings during the setback, has lost each of his last four decisions.
