The arrests come less than a week after Pinnacle Sports, a popular online sports book, announced its voluntary exit from the US market.
In a statement released earlier today, Neteller said neither Lawrence nor Lefebvre held any current position within the company. The statement added that the group had not received any communication or correspondence from any US authority regarding this or any related matter.
Lefebvre left Neteller in December 2005. Lawrence left in October of last year, shortly after the passing of the Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act (UIGEA).
It is unknown what impact the arrests will have on NETeller and the online gaming industry as a whole.
